1.  The Story:  What Happened?

      See Genesis 3 and Moses 4.

2.  What the Bible Doesn't Tell Us.

      a. Does it make sense that God wants us to progress and gain knowledge, but            does not want Adam and Eve to partake of the tree of knowledge of good and       evil?

      b. If the Fall was necessary, why did God forbid Adam and Eve to partake of the        fruit?  (Can God entice man to sin or to do evil?)  If God had recommended       that they partake of the fruit, then who would have been responsible for sin         and evil in the world?

      c. Genesis 1:28 (Moses 2:28) Genesis 2:17-18 (Moses 3:17-18)

         Why give Adam and Eve these seemingly opposing commandments?

      c. He did not consult with the Lord before partaking of the fruit.

9. Transgression versus Sin?

      a. It was not a sin, for they had no knowledge of good and evil.  It was a             transgression in both their words (Moses 5:10-11) and in the Lord's words (D&C         29:40).  Knowledge is a prerequisite to sin (James 4:17).

      b. It was anticipated and in accordance with heavenly Father's plan.

         1 Peter 1:18-20; 2 Nephi 2:24; Alma 42:6,8,26.
