Please come forward and stand before your church family.

There is a great responsibility placed upon us in the raising of children who are entrusted into our care…

-and it is for parents, and family, and friends, and the church…

reminds us…”children are a gift from God”

We are given a responsibility to play a vital role in the training and teaching of a child. It is a responsibility placed upon us by God himself…

tells us….Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.

This is a serious charge…this is not merely a formality, it is a life commitment. Because we are not dealing with temporary things…we are dealing with eternal thing.

That is why these family members stand before us today. They are here to dedicate themselves to this great call.

And so we bring this charge to them…

Will you pledge yourselves to the spiritual upbringing of this child, and to do so within the guidance of God’s holy Word, and through the help of His Holy Spirit?

Will you raise this child, to the best of your ability, in a home where Christian principles are lived and taught? Will you dare to be the Christian examples which will help lead this child in the way of our Lord?

(respond by saying, “yes we will)

And church…will you not neglect your responsibility…

Will you let this be a reminder to you that your lives are seen by those little children who are under your care? Will you so dedicate yourselves to the teaching and training of this child? That to the best of your ability, all will hear about the special love that Jesus has for them?

(respond by standing with these family members) PRAYER!!!!!!
