What if there was something happening right now in our midst that we were unable to see with our untrained eye?

You can’t see what’s happening but you can feel it’s affect.
Marriages falling apart.
Rape
Murder
Chuches splitting
Suicide
Fear
There is a present darkness around us and the enemy wants our lives and all of our relationships.
This enemy is enticing us as if he likes us but he’s doing it because he hates us.
There are things happening right now at this moment that we cannot understand without spiritual eyes.
We are in a war.
Ephesians 6
Ephesians 6:10–18 NASB95
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,

1. Direct Your Attack (10-12)

Paul encouraged Christians to rest upon the shoulders of God.
Not their own power or the power of the Roman government.
God’s power is infinite and man is limited.
The church at Ephesus was weak and in their present condition were unable to fight on their own.
There was a political threat looming over their church.
But Rome was not their enemy.
“Rulers” “Authorities” “Cosmic Powers”
This present darkness, against evil.
War Room Clip. Explain Movie Synopsis
People will learn to hate other people over a disagreement without finding the source.
They will hate each other for years!
The enemy will pick away at marriage.
He thrives in causing confusion!
How do we direct our attack?
Make sure you go to battle with God.
Attacking other people is misguided. Search for the source.
Satan and his demons are the enemy and deserve ALL of our attack.
People will fight the wrong battles their entire life. This is what Satan wants. When you focus on God, you will see your enemy more clearly.

2. Gather your armour for the evil day. (12-17)

A soldier wasn’t just sitting around hoping to never fight. He knew that enemy was always ready for a fight.
Paul taught church to assume that their evil day was coming.
Belt - Truth of God’s word
Chest armour - righteousness
Feet - gospel of peace
shield - faith
helmet - salvation
sword - holy spirit.
All of the armour used at the same time prepares for the evil day.
West, TX people live in the certainty that storms are coming. We can’t wish them away. We can only prepare to make ourselves safe.
You can’t wish away the evil in your life. It’s inevitable. The evil day is happening.
What’s the evil day?
The day that all hell breaks loose in your life.
You can:
Learn to obey evil and let it bully you into submission.
Stay out of the fight.
Live for God and accept what’s coming.
You can allow the attributes of God to surround you so that you can fight the devil against his schemes.
They are there for you.

3. Prayer is our fighting stance.

Roman soldiers were trained from an early day how to fight.
They were taught the art of hand to hand combat.
When fighting one on one, they had to learn how to gain leverage in order to survive.
Their ability to use a sword or their armour was pointless unless they knew how to have leverage.
General George Patton said is best when he said, “Wars may be fought with weapons but they are won by men.”
The best offensive linemen aren’t necessarily the strongest, quickest, or biggest. Travis Frederick is a great example.
The game can be dominated when they learn to stand correctly and get lower than the opponent. It’s all in the technique.
The stance of a Christian is not found in our knowledge, boldness of speech, or ability to lead.
The legs to Christianity are found when we get on our knees.
“Pray in the Spirit”
We find the Holy Spirit and pray in His rythym and the Lord will bring power into the situation.
Pray alone and often.
Pray in the name of Jesus.
Believe you are being heard.
Trust the process.
Repeat and don’t stop.
Your prayers will change the situation more than you can.
It’s how you go to war.
