Christianity has always recognized the need for authority in society, in the home and also in the church. We are going to talk about that a little bit today, So what we are going to look at is a congregational context, and then we will look at the qualifications of a deacon, to help us to be able to identify what a deacon is. Finally, we will see the responsibilities of a deacon
Now before we go any further, I believe it is essential that we understand that scripture seems to make it very clear that there are two offices within a church and they are deacons and elders and both of those offices are plural.
