Most of us like Being useful and Accomplishing something during our lifetime.

The question: Can we join God in his work?

Problem:

Faith is the common thread that runs through all those that joined God in his work.

Faith

therefore His work is dealing with holiness .

Where does faith come from?

Those that are used most be holy.

God is inviting us to join His plan

Why did God use these people to do some amazing things?

God is Holy.

Therefore His work is dealing with holiness .

They heard the Word of God and received the Word of God.

From Rahab to David

Rahab who lived in Jericho she owned an Inn

Rabah had a invitation from God to join in his work

Rahab’s faith

But keep in mind that the most important thing about Rahab was her faith.

That’s the most important thing about any person, for “without faith it is impossible to please Him [God]” ().

Not everything that is called “faith” is really true faith, the kind of faith that is described in the Bible.

What kind of faith did Rahab have?[3]

This is called the providence of God

She had heard what God was doing for the Hebrew people

She helps the Spy’s get out of Jericho alive.

Both and indicate that Rahab had put her faith in Jehovah God before the spies ever arrived in Jericho[4]

How did the spies find Rahab?

By the providence of God

as we watch this drama taking place.

Rahab was the only person in Jericho who trusted the God of Israel, and God brought the spies to her.[5]

It’s remarkable how God in His grace uses people we might think could never become His servants.[6]

“But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence” (, NKJV).[7]

What was the evidence of Rahab’s faith in God?

Rahab took her life in her hands when she welcomed the spies and hid them[8]

Rahab confessed to the spies the reason for her complicity with the Israelites’ cause.

Rahab feared the God of the Jews

believing that he would surely give them victory.

“For the Lord your God is God in heaven above and on the earth below”

( niv).[9]

Rahab put her faith in the God of heaven.

What is the right place to put your faith in God

Some people have faith in faith.

Rahab showed more faith in the Lord than the ten spies had exhibited forty years before, when she said, “I know that the Lord has given you the land” (, NKJV[11]

Her faith was based on facts, not just feelings; for she had heard of the miracles God had performed, starting with the opening up of the Red Sea at the Exodus.

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (, NKJV).[12]

Because of her faith in God she was used in a powerful way.

God invited her to join him in a great work.

Rahab was going to become apart of the line of Christ

God gives her a husband

She was ready to be used by God.

She married Salmon of the tribe of Judah and was the mother of Boaz.

Boaz married Ruth

Had a son Obed

He had a son named Jesse

He had a son named David

David the Shepherd boy

Do you have faith in God today?

How can you be used in a powerful way today

If you hear his word and receive his word.

Faith comes by hearing the word

God using you comes by obeying the Word you have heard

, David “a man after Gods heart”

I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My heart, who will do all My will.’[13]

God has a plan for you

However, you must hear His word

You must obey it

By joining Him in his work.
