Passover was a time of remembrance of the Exodus
Jesus said, from now on do this in remembrance of Me
--------------------
So this service is in remembrance of Jesus’ death for us, and His return one day.
--------------------
Pay attention to the fact that Jesus’ closest followers betray and desert him, and the anguish that He chooses to go through for you and for me.
--------------------
Jesus willing allowed Himself to be crucified for you and for me, so that we could be forgiven and live with Him forever.
God is just and must punish all sin, but God chose to take that punishment for us
All of the first Christians were called disciples by Jesus, and called themselves disciples, because that’s what they were.
And Jesus has called us to follow him as disciples and to make disciples until he comes back, and He will be with us to help us do exactly that.
We’ve been given a mission.
Let’s pour all that we are into that mission until we are called home.
Are you a disciple of Jesus?
Have you been discipled?
Do you want to be?
The first step is a leap of faith.
--------------------
Repent, or to say it another way, turn from sinning against God, be baptized, and be discipled in the local body with other believers.
This is what the early church looked like, and this is the model we are to strive towards.
Teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread together, and prayer.
