There are certain questions that can be asked of a teacher which help prepare a parent to perceive and interpret a child’s signals better.

1. What is there about my child that the other children in the class like and dislike?
2. In what ways is my child more mature or less mature than other children in the class?
3. Is my child a leader or a follower with his classmates?
4. Does my child usually appear happy or sad?  Tense or relaxed?
5. In what ways does my child need to improve?
