You are here today because your pastor sees the potential for you in leadership.
What does that mean?
Steward (mayordomo): Overseer, someone that is in charge of someone else's goods.
Jesus would teach a lot on stewards and stewardship.
Jesus said there are only two kinds of leaders
Hard working and lazy
When the master returns he will find those using their influence one of two ways.
Using his influence to fulfil his MASTER’S wishes
Using his influence to fulfill his OWN wishes
Define leadership
Sometimes we act like leadership is some hard to understand, got to have a special calling, certain personality only the few can have it.
Leadership: the ability to influence other people to do what you want.
Godly/church leadership: the ability to influence other people to do what God wants!
A good leader will influence others to:
build his buisness
raise money for cancer reserch
raise awareness for some great cause
use thier time wisely
A bad leader will influence others to:
bad habits
waste money
join a cult
make bad decision
A bad church leader will influence others to:
doubt their pastor
question holiness
question the message
encourage non commitment
Satan is a good leader!
He is good at influencing people to do bad things!
A good church leader will influence others to:
love their pastor
love holiness and separation
embrace the message
encourage one another
He is good at influencing people to do bad things!
A Godly leader is a doer
Questions that God asked me to ask you the last time I was here
What are you doing as a leader?
What things should you be doing to develop yourself as a leader?
How much are you praying?
How much are you studying the Word of God?
How have you brought to church?
How many home bible studies have you taught?
What is your desire?
Best way to see what your desire is is to monitor what you do!
BECAUSE WE DO WHAT WE WANT NOT WHAT WE SHOULD DO!
Do you wish to please God or yourself?
Do you wish to sing or do ministry?
Do you wish to see Jesus or be seen?
Do you know your pastor’s desire/heart?
If you don’t know, how can you lead people in this church?
