VICTORIOUS LOVE
* *
ROMANS 8:35
* *
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
I.
THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THIS CHALLENGING QUESTION
A.   CHRISTIANITY IS FOUNDED UPON THE LOVE OF CHRIST
B.   OUR NEW-FOUND LIFE IS DEPENDENT ON THE CONTINUED REVELATION OF HIS LOVE
C.   THE LOVE OF CHRIST IS GOD’S LOVE REVEALED

II.
OUR CONFIDENT REPLY IS ROMANS 8:38 & 39 “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
A.   THE HOSTILITY OF AN UNBELIEVING WORLD CANNOT SEPARATE US FROM HIS LOVE
B.   THE HOSTILITY OF THE DEMONIC WORLD CANNOT SEPARATE US FROM HIS LOVE
C.   TIME, OR DISTANCE CANNOT SEPARATE US FROM HIS LOVE

III.
THIS CONFIDENCE IS JUSTIFIED BY:
A.   THE DIGNITY OF CHRIST’S PERSON AND THE PERFECTION OF HIS CHARACTER
1.     HE DOES NOT UNDERTAKE WHAT HE CANNOT ACCOMPLISH
2.     HE DOES NOT BEGIN WHAT IS BEYOND HIS POWER TO FINISH
WHAT HE HAS PROMISED HE WILL FULFILL

B.
BY HIS PEACE THAT HE SUPPLIES US IN THE MIDDLE OF LIFE; JOHN 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
C.   BY THE HOPE OF ETERNITY; TITUS 1:2 “In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;”
D.   BY THE KNOWLEDGE THAT CHRIST DOES NOT ABANDON HIS OWN; HEBREWS 13:5 “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
