Jesus takes up the cross to complete His mission!

God is a "host" who deliberately creates His own parasites; causes us to be that we may exploit and "take advantage of" Him. Herein is love. This is the diagram of Love Himself, the inventor of all loves.”
Matthew 4:10 ESV
Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “ ‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’ ”
Matthew 4:10 ESV
Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “ ‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’ ”
1 Corinthians 1:23 ESV
but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles,
1 Corinthians 4:10 ESV
We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honor, but we in disrepute.
Matthew 16:21–23 ESV
From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised. And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from you, Lord! This shall never happen to you.” But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.”
Matt 16:
Life is wasted if we do not grasp the glory of the cross...What was once foolishness to us—a crucified God—must become our wisdom and our power and our only boast in this world.
1 Corinthians 1:23 ESV
but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles,
Life is wasted if we do not grasp the glory of the cross...What was once foolishness to us—a crucified God—must become our wisdom and our power and our only boast in this world.
Romans 8:5 ESV
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
Romans 8:5 ESV
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
Romans 5:8
Philippians 3:19 ESV
Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.
Colossians 3:2 ESV
Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
Philippians 2:5 ESV
Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,
Life is wasted if we do not grasp the glory of the cross, cherish it for the treasure that it is, and cleave to it as the highest price of every pleasure and the deepest comfort in every pain. What was once foolishness to us—a crucified God—must become our wisdom and our power and our only boast in this world.
He cannot talk

We take up the Cross to tell His Message!

Matthew 16:24–28 ESV
Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done. Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”
2 Timothy 2:12–13 ESV
if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; if we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself.
2 Timothy 2:11–13 ESV
The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; if we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself.
Discipleship is not just a matter of bending our will to Jesus’ will; It’s melting your heart into a whole new shape. You find a new identity in Jesus!
Mt 10:38-39
Matthew 10:38–39 ESV
And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
You old way of having an identity, gaining a sense of self, has got to end. In a sense you have to die to it. And I will give you a whole new identity. You’ll get a whole new true self if you trust me!
Luke 12:20 ESV
But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’
Nothing teaches us about the preciousness of the Creator as much as when we learn the emptiness of everything else.
Psalm 49:7–8 ESV
Truly no man can ransom another, or give to God the price of his life, for the ransom of their life is costly and can never suffice,
Daniel 7:10 ESV
A stream of fire issued and came out from before him; a thousand thousands served him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him; the court sat in judgment, and the books were opened.
Revelation 1:7 ESV
Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.
2 Corinthians 5:10 ESV
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.
Hebrews 2:9 ESV
But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
