One lie we’ve believed in our culture is that the best thing we can do for ourselves is take care of ourselves first. To prioritize our needs, wants, and desires over others, because if you don’t take care of yourself, who will? You’ve gotta learn to be independent and not depend on no one. This is a big lie of our culture, and honestly is a reflection of the rebellion in our hearts towards dependence on God. Living your best life isn’t about doing you, it’s about depending on Jesus. You are not strong enough to bear the burden of your own life. You cannot be your own God. You were made to depend on Jesus.
