            A combination of love and discipline was our basic formula.

            Don’t give your children too many things.  Don’t saddle them with your own fears, prejudices or frustrations.  Don’t be overprotective.  Where discipline is concerned, don’t vacillate.  Don’t stifle their talent for religion.

            Do’s – The first is the simplest:  show affection.  Trust them.  Encourage them to think for themselves.  Cultivate the ability to communicate with them.  Show them what self-discipline is.
