The crowds proclaimed their belief – but it was incomplete.

Called Him son of David but saw Him as only a prophet.

Proclaimed ‘blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord’, didn’t recognize that it was the Lord Himself who had come.

Psalm 118: 25 O Lord, save us; O Lord, grant us success. 26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. From the house of the Lord we bless you.

Hosanna – ‘save, we pray ’, the crowds wanted a savior from the Romans, not from their sin

Their faith was short-lived, superficial

Jesus didn’t fulfill their expectations – they didn’t understand why He had come

Swayed by fear, the powers of this world

Jesus triumphs when we proclaim our faith in Him, welcome Him into our lives

Jesus came to save from sin, not just the people of His own time but us as well

When we accept that gift Jesus triumphs over sin and Satan

Luke 15: 10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

Let our faith be complete

Jesus is more than a prophet

Jesus is Savior and Lord, God with us

Let us not drop away

            If our expectations aren’t met

If we become afraid

If we face pressure to conform

Let out lives be a visible sign of Jesus’ triumphant
