I Samuel 17:2-11
Introduction:
This story reminds us just how easy it is for the enemy to get the victory. Our enemy doesn’t fight fair. The enemy will try intimidation tactics in order to scare us into submission It does not matter who is against you or what you are up against, we must choose to trust the Lord to meet our every need and to fight our battles.
Main Point of the Message:
We can be victorious over our circumstances by placing our faith in God to meet our need. The Bible says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).
Background and Biblical Context:
Israel under King Saul has come to the Valley of Elah to fight the Philistines and their champion fighter, Goliath. (1 Sam. 17:2-7, 16). David, a shepherd boy, comes to the valley to serve his brothers but ends up fighting Goliath and defeating the Philistine army.
