Making the Commission Great

Inform

When you hear about the death of someone what thoughts come to mind?  Usually the first question we ask is how they died as if one mode of death will somehow make a difference. If we are honest we usually don’t ask if they were saved?  For most of us that question will never come up except when reading the obituary.  I wonder if they were saved is a great question to ponder.  I know I have been listening all week long about the sudden death of the actor Heath Ledger.  The truth is I have been annoyed Ad nausea at the sensational coverage of his short life.

I began to ask what kind of relationship did he have if at all with Jesus?  I began to wrestle with all his fame and fortune, with all of the potential and pageantry who is bringing the Good News to this generation enamored with the now and little concern with tomorrow.  Who is going to bring the Good News to them?  But the Lord revealed to me that in order for him to have had a relationship with Jesus someone would have had to tell Heath about Jesus.
