For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand.
Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.

For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.

The word

To go away, Literally to physical movement away from something or somewhere
Cause to rebel, depart, leave, forsake, desert, abandon, keep away from, avoid association
False teachers that deny what Christ’s church confesses —John Stott

Apostasy will happen
The Holy Spirit very plainly and clearly warns that some will depart from the faith
The Holy Spirit is guarding the truth of God’s word
The Holy Spirit reveals to Paul the coming of apostasy in the church. Either through recorded scripture or under the inspiration of which Paul was writing this letter
The Holy Spirit’s authority in this matter
:
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
The Holy Spirit identifies the false teachers and reveals their sources for their teaching
The Holy Spirit gives the timing
Latter times meaning afterwards or later or finally there will be seasons of apostasy. These seasons will be repeated throughout the history of the Church. During the final days a worldwide apostasy will fill the earth under the rule of satan’s Antichrist ()
The Holy Spirit identifies the victims
Beware
Someone who once said they believed but has forsaken the faith
Some who once said they believed but have forsaken the faith
Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God;
Hebrews
Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.
Parable of the sower
But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away.
Someone who has listened to the false teachers and demons
It contradicts the faith as taught in the scripture
It counters the truth with it’s own false truth
The Holy Spirit very plainly and clearly warns that some will depart from the faith
The Holy Spirit very plainly and clearly warns that some will depart from the faith
You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

False teachers deny what the church confesses —John Stott
Apostasy is not a new thing
Latter times meaning afterwards or later or finally there will be seasons of apostasy. These seasons will be repeated throughout the history of the Church. During the final days a worldwide apostasy will fill the earth under the rule of satan’s Antichrist ()
He shall speak pompous words against the Most High,
Shall persecute the saints of the Most High,
And shall intend to change times and law.
Then the saints shall be given into his hand
For a time and times and half a time.
“And in the latter time of their kingdom,
When the transgressors have reached their fullness,
A king shall arise,
Having fierce features,
Who understands sinister schemes.
When? In latter times
Who? False teachers, Some will depart from the faith
Why? False teachers give heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons

You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
John 8:44
This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.
The Interpretation of St. Paul’s Epistles to the Colossians, to the Thessalonians, to Timothy, to Titus, and to Philemon How Timothy Is to Be Prepared to Meet the Apostasy Foretold by the Spirit
The great danger is that today false doctrines are not recognized as coming from demons unless they deny the faith in toto, as if the devil is not cunning enough to begin with little lies, as if only those that are as big as mountains come from him.

VERSE 3A
They produce and proclaim teachings that opposes the will of God recorded in the word of God
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,
:
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,
They lead an attack to reject sacred and sanctified things
Forbidding to marry and abstaining from gifts, such as food that God has created for us
Marriage and food relate to the two most basic appetites of the human body, sex and hunger. They are natural appetites too, although both can be abused by degenerating into lust and greed. —Stott, John. The Message of 1 Timothy and Titus (The Bible Speaks Today Series) . InterVarsity Press. Kindle Edition.

Marriage is a gift God gave to the man and woman at creation
Marriage is a gift no one has the right to tear apart and rearrange it to their liking
Exposing their error through the Scriptures
Promoting the idea of spiritual superiority is gained
Abstaining from certain foods
VERSE 3B
God created the foods for our nourishment
Both were created as gifts from our Creator
God supplied our need to which we need to be grateful by believers who know the truth
Marriage is a gift God gave to the man and woman at creation
Marriage is a gift no one has the right to tear apart and rearrange to their liking
Marriage doesn’t have to be sanctioned by the state or accepted by society (though you hope it is); for it is a vow between a man and a woman before a holy God to be commited and faithful to each other for life
Marriage in God’s sight is still a holy matrimony.
Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.
Hebrews
Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.
Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
Food is given to us by God to be enjoyed and to nourish our bodies which He created
Food sustains life
And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Genesis 1:29
And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth, on every bird of the air, on all that move on the earth, and on all the fish of the sea. They are given into your hand. Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs.
Genesis 9:2
Both are to be recieved with thanksgiving by true believers
VERSE 4
Food is to be received with thanksgiving because God created all things good
And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs.
All is allowed when received with a heart of thanksgiving
The importance of the blessing
VERSE 5
God’s word and our prayer of faith set it apart to be enjoyed and to bring nourishment to our bodies
Thus marriage and food, and all God’s many other creation gifts, are consecrated twice over, first and foremost objectively in themselves, since God made or instituted them, gave them to us to enjoy, and has said so in Scripture. Then secondly they are consecrated to us subjectively when we recognize their divine origin and receive them from God with gratitude. If God made something, calling it into being by his word, and by the same word declared it to be good, and if, as a result of our knowledge of these things, we can thank God for it with a good conscience, then we have a double cause to receive it, enjoy it, and thankfully celebrate it. God’s creative word and our grateful prayer have together sanctified it to our use. — Stott, John. The Message of 1 Timothy and Titus (The Bible Speaks Today Series) . InterVarsity Press. Kindle Edition.

It is sanctified by prayer
Abusing these 2 gifts in a fallen world
Gluttony, sexual sins forbidden by God, food contaminated, abusing animals, famine all these things came as a result of sin. However Paul penned this words in that environment an said as believers we can still enjoy these gifts as God intended them to be with a heat of gratefulness
Sexual sins forbidden by God
Notice carefully, however, what Paul writes. It is not that ‘everything is good’, but that everything created by God is good. This is an indispensable qualification, since not everything that exists has come unsullied from the Creator’s hand. For the creation was followed by the fall, which introduced evil into the world and spoiled much of God’s good creation. Indeed the creation has been ‘subjected to frustration’ and is now ‘groaning’ in pain.15 We therefore need discernment to know what in our human experience is attributable to the creation, and what to the fall. A flagrant current misuse of the creation argument is the claim that the practices of heterosexual and homosexual people are equally good because equally created. Homosexual Christians regularly say, ‘I’m gay because God made me that way, and so I intend to celebrate my homosexuality.’ But no, what God created was ‘male and female’, with heterosexual marriage as the intended consequence.16 It is no more appropriate to celebrate homosexuality than other disordered human tendencies which are due to the fall, like our irrationality, covetousness or pride. So we must be careful not to confuse creation and fall, order and disorder, but rather to ensure that we celebrate only what God created, and thankfully receive only what he gives. — Stott, John. 8-11 Bodily fitness has a certain value, but spiritual fitness is essential both for this present life and for the life to come. There is no doubt about this at all, and Christians should remember it. It is because we realize the paramount importance of the spiritual that we labour and struggle. We place our whole confidence in the living God, the saviour of all men, and particularly of those who believe in him. These convictions should be the basis of your instruction and teaching. —JB Philips
