Are you having a great time at Soccer Camp?
Guys I’m so excited to be here with you today. It is so much fun to be able to hang out with you all here at soccer camp.
Well if you were here yesterday you would remember that Pastor Bob talked about how Jesus made everything. He made you, me, the mountains, all the animals, everything.
You see the bible tells us that when Jesus created the heavens and the earth he created them perfect. He put the world together and placed animals in there and then he created Adam and Eve and it was all perfect. There was nothing wrong anywhere in the world.
Then we read in Genesis that sin entered the world. And we know that sin is when we do what is wrong in Jesus’s eyes. It can be something that we do, think, feel, or say. Sin is when you lie to your mom. Sin is when you argue with your brother. Sin is when you yell or cry or complain to get what you want. Sin is when you do something when no one is looking.
And you know what we all do these things. I have an awesome mom. Who in here has an awesome mom? I remember when I was a kid and I remember my mom telling me when I was outside playing not to throw rocks. That seems pretty reasonable right? Well being the amazing kid that I was who listens to his mom all the time, I got bored and decided to start throwing rocks with my friends. And you know what one of those rocks hit my neighbors house. And not only did it hit their house, but it went through one of their windows. Now do you think my mom was happy to hear that I did that? Not only did disobeyed her but I broke a window. There was a consequence to me being disobedient.
Sin is kinda like that. We have the bible, which is God’s word that has some awesome things in it about how we should live and as people we sometimes do things that are wrong and against what is in the bible.
A really smart guy once said that only on the creator can truly fix the creation. Have you every tried to fix something you got that you’ve broken. I had a toy helicopter once. And I had a blast flying this thing around until I crashed this thing. I tried my best to put it back together but it honestly didn’t ever fly the same again.
Remember Jesus is our creator. He created us and when we are broken and need to be fixed he is the person that we need to go to. Jesus wants us to come to him and he wants us to ask him to fix us.
