Dead in sin

The reality through the lens of the gospel.
When you take the 3D glasses we will see beyond what you think - beyond what you could have imagined or the limitation of your eyes. Without it, you wouldn’t be able to see it 360.
What if I asked you guys how do you see yourself? Through what lenses do you see yourself? The worldly glasses or through the lenses of the gospel?
Our generation see it differently. Our generation look to our inside with different eyes.
You hear: “ you are amazing! You are incredible. “
Omg! When things don’t go right with us, we tend to get mad and demand that everything should be going well. Or we don’t deserve what we are going through.
Anyhow, we tend to look through the eyes of our system, of what surrounds us, but... how do we look through the glasses of the Gospel? Through the lenses of the Gospel.
Gospel is the good news after a bad news. The news about the costly love of Christ for us is great l, but we can never forget the justice in Christ described through the Bible since the Old Testament till the New Testament.
Through the eyes of the Gospel, we are found dead. Dead in our transpasses

4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—

Paul says: “we were” - he is talking to believers.
Dead people can’t loveDead people can’t choose anything free from influence. No right to careNo right for nothing - because they are dead.

Our state before conversion: we were dead, enslaved to evil & destined to God’s divine wrath.
Deadness: Far from God, our source of live for we are unable to save ourselves, meaning, we cannot start any process of conversion.
Our moral, affections, will, desire, thoughts, feelings - all affected by sin.
We don’t care about God, about heavenly things, we are spiritually blind.
One loves more sin, but tries to discipline oneself in order to try to do something that is impossible.
The surrender must be real. In light of the need of the Savior.
There is no freedom. God is the only one completely free. We are affected by culture, family culture, place we grew up in.
Original sin:

Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. 19 For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.

Dead in spirit - some of you are dead & think you are alive. Today is the day for you to acknowledge your condition - through the Gospel’s lenses. Not through your own.
