We’ve talked about what it meant to Paul to be the Lord’s prisoner, or slave, bondservant, to have sold himself willing and binding himself to Jesus and His mission.
Therefore, I urger you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you’ve been called.
urge—implore, ask for earnestly, beg, plead, encourage is part, a desire for one to do something because he knows it’s for their best
walk—behave, live, conduct one’s life, imitate
the calling to which you have been called—to be like Jesus
worthy—characterized by humility, gentleness, patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace
to surrender to Jesus, to give up our rights to ourselves, our plans, total allegiance to the King.
Opposite of Adam and Eve, they seized autonomy, looked out for themselves, to better themselves, desired what wasn’t theirs, coveted, for the shear pleasure of having it.
Eyes opened to sin and living out from under God’s authority.
