For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.
For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function,
so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith;
if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching;
the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.
Title : Unity in missions
SHOW VIDEO
A few years ago I attended a Short Term Mission Leadership Seminar for 3 days.
What is a hidden threat to Short Term Mission? Conflict - conflict tears apart the team. It burns down everything that we try to build.
Before our STM team went - During our time there we did devotions everyday. We all took turn to lead it.
We came to this passage - where we are reminded 2 things that we need to pay attention in order to honor God on our STM.

A. Be United in Christ!
Romans 12:3-
We are one BODY in Christ!!! -
Throughout Paul mission trips - he had to deal a lot with conflict. Many churches Paul went to you had Jews and non-jews. There were talks whether Jews can non-jews can sit together when they eat.
Throughout Paul mission trips - he had to deal a lot with conflict. Many churches Paul went to you had Jews and non-jews. There were talks whether Jews can non-jews can sit together when they eat.
So in the book of Romans - had the same thing going on. Paul spent ...
“After eleven chapters about who we are and what we have in Christ, Paul is going to talk about service, how to love and serve God and one another in the Body of Christ. And he begins with this issue of spiritual gifts.”
But first Paul said..: NOT TO THINK MORE HIGHLY THAN HE OUGHT TO THINK...
For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.

But we did not forget why we are doing - we do it because we are saved by Jesus. And we are doing because we love him.
Bring it back - W2020
Why are we doing it? For Jesus! Not because we are bored, or we want to impress someone.
We can only do it if we are united in Christ. We are doing it for Him because of Him.
B. Be unity in the purpose of your gifts!
There is unity when we serve with Jesus as the center.
Paul use the perfect example of the body - that we with different gifts work together like a body with Jesus as the HEAD.
Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith;
if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching;
the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.

Paul really likes to use the example of the body. We are like
SHOW GROUP PICTURE
If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body.
And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body.
If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell?
But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose.
If all were a single member, where would the body be?
As it is, there are many parts, yet one body.

I see this idea also played out in movies like power rangers, even avengers.
