Application
1.
There are plenty of things we could learn from all of the brothers.
We should not be jealous like the Joseph’s brothers.
We should not be angry and have murder in our heart.
We could also learn that it is important to honor and obey our parents like Joseph obeyed his father.
2. Another thing that the brothers and, to some extent, Jacob got wrong was that God was revealing to Joseph and to them that Joseph was going to be a way for their lives to be saved in the future.
Joseph’s brothers responded to that heavenly message with the desire to kill the one who would later save them.
This is exactly what happened to Jesus.
We will talk more about this later this week, but Jesus came into the world to save sinners and sinners decided to choose their sin instead and they crucified Jesus.
If you’re here today and you do not know Jesus as your personal Savior yet, please talk to someone about how you can receive Jesus and become a part of His family.
3. I guess the last thing worth saying is that you can be doing everything right, you can be following Jesus with all you have, but bad things may still happen in your life.
This is just a reminder to you that we have a very good God.
He is always with you and He understands your pain and confusion.
Trust Him.
