INTRODUTION

Today do we see the manifest power of God operating in the lives of believers. If not What is the reason, and how can we walk in the Power.
Topic: - Walking in the Power
Acts 1:8 KJV 1900
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
What is the Power of Pentecost, because in — it tell us that He gave them power..
Matthew 10:1 KJV 1900
And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
Mat 10:1
This was before pentecost so why would they have needed the Power of pentecost?
Illustration - My Vision of the night about Authority vs Ability
If we are going to walk in the power we must have the Authority and the Ability
POWER - Can be divided in two main categories
Power can be devided in two main categories
Authoritative Power
Enabling Power

1. Authoritative Power - (AUTHORITY)

(εξουσια) - The ability to rule over, to command, to have jurisdiction/dominion. It is the Right to execute Judgement over the enimy.
Jesus said it is finished
The Judgement has been handed down.
John 12:31 KJV 1900
Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
jn
Now (gk. “nun” ) - Immediate moment or present period of time.
It is for us to execute the judgement or sentence. “Sit at my right hand....
- Earth waits for the manifestation....”
All power (Authority) is given unto me ..... Go....
Stop doubting and start believing.
We operate in this Authority by faith.
STOP DOUBTING AND START BELIEVING
So Jesus gave them Authority over unclean Spirits, and Sicknesses - - But by the time we get to chapter 17 we see another thing.
So Jesus gave them Authority over unclean Spirits, and Sicknesses - - But by the time we get to chapter 17 we see another thing.
Matthew 17:14–17 KJV 1900
And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
Matthew 17:14 ESV
And when they came to the crowd, a man came up to him and, kneeling before him,
Why where they not able to cast out the spirit. Jesus gives some clues in His rebuke to them:
Faithless - lack of faith
Perverse - (gk) To be mentally or emotionally unstable - (Doubting)
Matthew 17:20 KJV 1900
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Mat 17:20
Here He says it is there unbelief. - Their lack of faith made them unable to operate at that level.
Illustration: Peter walking on the water
JUST BELIEVE AND DON’T DOUBT
Matthew 17:21 KJV 1900
Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
Mat 17:

2. Enabling Power - (ABILITY)

Jesus fasted 40 days - - “Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit”
(δυναμις) - The ability to perform an action, the energy or force by which an act is accomplish.
The Holy Spirit gave them the ability to accomplish the work / service they where called to do. It is referred to as miraculous power that enables one to perform miracles.
Through prayer and fasting we increase our ability to execute the Authority.
Acts 1:8 KJV 1900
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
This ability comes thru the empowering of the Holy Spirit
NB: Doubt
Jude 20 ESV
But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit,
We operate in the ability thru intimacy with the Holy Spirit.
the enemy tries extremely hard to prevent us from consistent prayer.
for a prayer-less christian is a powerless christian.
JUST PRAY AND DON’T FAINT
Illustration - The believers prayer in the spirit realm
But we cannot exercise authority over the devil if we are submitting to Him. If we are operating in his camp.

3. Sanctifying Power - (PURITY)

Zech 3:1-4
Zechariah 3:1–4 ESV
Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, O Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is not this a brand plucked from the fire?” Now Joshua was standing before the angel, clothed with filthy garments. And the angel said to those who were standing before him, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” And to him he said, “Behold, I have taken your iniquity away from you, and I will clothe you with pure vestments.”
- We are sanctified by the Power of The Holy Spirit.
“Submit to God, resist the Devil .....”
We cannot continue to practice sin and overcome the devil, for satan is the master of sin and if you practice sin he has become your master.
Illustration - My visit to hell
We walk in purity thru submission
JUST SUBMIT, TRUST AND OBEY

CONCLUSION

Jesus said greater works shall ye do because i go to my father. Why because if i do not go the comforter (Holy Spirit) will not come. But when He comes you will receive Power.
Authority - To exercise the power of God and execute Judgement against the enimy
Ability - (Strength) to enforce that authority
