Much Given
In the previous verses, we find the believer is to wait an watch for the Lord’s appearing...
Waiting and watching are important… Warren Wiersbe said this - “Once a believer starts to think his Master is not coming back, his life begins to deteriorate.”
true, so true...
So the Lord went from:
Waiting to watching, to Working...
Service for the Lord is a key component in the Christian life!!! it is not an optional extra that we choose or ignore - it is the expectation...
Wait, watch, work...
But in this working -
We find different levels of accountability...
Over the years, I have had people get upset with me that I had a higher expectation on them than someone else...
The principle that we glean from this passage is the basis for that guideline...
Someone who has been raised in church all of their life...
Someone who has been in a church that was doctrinally and practically sound is more accountable...
MUCH GIVEN:
SALVATION
TIMOTHY - from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures that is able to make thee wise unto salvation
SERVICE
Maniac of Gaderra
wicked, demon posessed life - chains and bondage...
SANCTIFICATION
set apart for God’s service

SERVICE
The greater expectation is based on what we have been given...
Our children will be held to a higher expectation than those who have not been:
Raised in a Christian home
Had a Good solid church
Sunday School teachers, staff, invest in them
Those who have been given the opportunity to be in a christian school vs a public school
Those of us who have been given much.
much is required...
don’t look at those who have been given less and compare yourself, or use what they are doing as a guideline...
Much Given… Much required...
