Sermon Tone Analysis

1. Now that we are Christians our lives should be different.

I don’t want you to be ignorant about spiritual gifts.

The phrase “Spiritual Gifts” has three possible translations:

Spiritual things.

Spiritual people.

Spiritual gifts.

The reason that this is translated “gifts” is because of the context of the rest of the chapter.

The Apostle Paul wants them to be informed about Spiritual Gifts.

As your pastor, I want you to be fully aware that you are a spiritual person.

I want you to have a full understanding of spiritual things.

I want you to be able to understand all gifts and offices.

i want you to be able to move in unity with the body of Christ.

I want and need you to function in the gifts that are yours, for the Glory of God.

The Apostle Paul is writing to non-Jewish converts.

He wants to be sure that they understand the difference between this faith and other faiths they may have experienced.

Let’s look at (NKJV) 2 You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. 3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

When we where in the in the world, we worshiped idols.Our Idols are different then theirs, they worshiped idols made by man’s hands.

We worship Idols made by culture.

This has to do with Jesus dying a criminals death.

No true Christian believes that Jesus is a criminal.

No one confesses Jesus is Lord except by the Spirit.

No gift is truly spiritual until you are born again.
