Welcome Children in the name of Jesus Christ
Matthew 18:5
Transforming Generations that Transform Communities
What is summer REFUEL?
This is not a time where you here 10 new ideas from me or think of more things for us to do.
I believe in what we are doing and I believe it is working.
Can it be improved on?
yes but is what is happening here what God desires?
yes!
Look this stuff is bigger than just one person.
What is happening here is a God sized thing.
What is happening here is because their are people who are committed to the vision.
When I say people who are committed to the vision I mean you, I mean our great staff, our great volunteers, the people that come from all over the country to serve here, people who give monthly through the mail and don’t even attend church here but the people that make it happen day in and day out are you.
You believe in the vision.
You have bought in on caring for the children well in our community and you are making it happen.
So is there a need for some new grand idea or a major change in this organization?
The answer is no.
We have not named this new fuel or get rid of the old fuel but I want these nights in July to be a time when we refuel.
We fill back up on what is working and prepare for what God has planned.
Look at what God did
Joshua 24:1-
I am going to take us back a little and look at what God did among us.
Spring Breakaway the Lord moved in the life of our students with Adam and Erin.
We had many students wanting to have Gospel conversations and wanted to know what it meant to be saved.
REACH finished the year strong.
We asked for an air conditioned bus and God gave us two.
The school system upgraded our school buses by giving us two more buses and we got an exceptional deal on those.
We started hiring students for the summer and I am excited that six 14-18 year olds are getting paid to work for us this summer.
We worked to bring on College mentors and we have six college mentors that came to us in many different avenues.
Baseball started and we coached 4 teams in Rockaway and 3 teams played at the Rec Plex.
Over 60 kids and their families were involved in Bridge of Faith athletics through baseball and softball.
One of the greatest moments...
Pam getting a hit!
The implications of this moment
How many girls with development disabilities get the opportunity to play softball in a rural community like Rockaway Beach
I loved that kids became starting pitchers who had never picked up a baseball.
I loved that parents started becoming more regular to church through watching their children play ball.
Walking up to the umpire and telling him that the kid pitching never touched a baseball before this year.
Summers @ the Beach
We had 98 kids registered.
Our lowest day of registered kids was 64 and our highest was 71.
I LOVE this.
My goal was for 70 registered kids and you blew this out of the water.
We averaged almost 70 kids a day!
I am so encouraged the quality of programming our kids receive while they are here.
I love the Bible lessons, the games, the crafts, and financial peace junior.
So much detail was involved in planning.
I was blown away by the daily crafts the kids got to do.
My kids were always excited to be here everyday.
Financial peace junior is amazing.
I love love love that kids in our community at a young age (my 5 year old was contemplating giving)
I love this and you are not just giving these kids a seat at the table but you are giving the kids in Rockaway Beach the chance to lead the table discussion at the table.
My kids are doing chores to earn money so they can save up for things at the store.
I should probably pay them something soon.
Graduation was amazing and well attended and we were able to get families in to visit.
This year we added counseling sessions for kids to our program as well.
Our bus drivers and their professionalism on driving and keeping kids safe.
The relationship you developed with the kids and their families.

We fed great meals 2 meals a day, 4 days a week for four days!
I was trying to not eat sometimes for fitness reasons but then I would see the breakfast or lunch and I could not turn it down.
Biscuits and gravy get me every time.
We were having fresh salads as an option everyday too.
I love that if someone walks in to the church in the summer and they are stressed we fed them and gave them a great meal.
I love that we fed kids this summer and studies show that kids who eat summer meals, do better in school, are less likely to drop out, and it helps them in the summer.

Summer School
Our summer school teachers rocked it this summer!
They were teaching their hearts out to kids that sometimes didn’t want to be taught.
These teachers bought in to our vision and they did everything with in their means to make sure our kids would have extra education this summer.

Numbers 14:
What if Joshua and Caleb just said no?
You can take back all the stuff at the beginning of the chapter.
What would happen if you would have just said no this summer?
