Oh God our father in heaven holy is your name your kingdom come your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, please give us today our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors. Lead us not in to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
God as we begin to read your word today help us to clear our hearts and minds and focus on you and on what your Spirit is telling us today. give us ears to hear and renew our hearts within us. have your way with us we pray oh God and direct us where we should go. we ask you to bless us as we look into your word in 1 Samuel today.

19 They rose early in the morning and worshiped before the Lord; then they went back to their house at Ramah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the Lord remembered her.

The First Book of Samuel (6) “Theme of Kingship” (v. 10b)
In sum, the Song concludes with a two-fold plea for Yahweh — the incomparably holy one, the rock (v. 2), the truly knowledgeable one (v. 3), the lord of life and death (v. 6), the maker of rich and poor (v. 7), the greater demoter and promoter (v. 8) — to raise the king of Israel to a position of power and prominence worthy of the Great God who appointed him.
The NIV Application Commentary: 1 & 2 Samuel Hannah Fulfills Her Vow (1:21–28)
Having come to God with nothing, she now returns to Shiloh to give back that which means everything.
And does so in a heart of PRAISE!!!
How does this apply to you today?
You like Hannah are barren having come to God with nothing, He has given you everything in His Son Christ Jesus!!
this incomparably holy one, this god who has true knowledge of you, the God who is the only wise judge and will one day judge you, has raised for himself a king of power beyond the curse of the grave, who reigns forevermore, in order to bring the dead to life eternal
and He did so not begrudgingly but in a spirit of worship and praise

The NIV Application Commentary: 1 & 2 Samuel Original Meaning
HANNAH’S PRAYER HAS been answered. The Lord has given this wonderful woman a son, and she has dedicated him to God’s service in the tabernacle at Shiloh (ch. 1). Thus far we have only been given a hint of the problems in Shiloh itself. Eli the priest and his two sons were introduced in the previous unit (1:3, 9), but their characters have not yet been described. Eli’s inability to discern the nature of Hannah’s prayer may ironically and subtly tell us something about him (1:12–14). But in chapter 2 we learn that the venerable old priestly family at Shiloh is exceedingly corrupt. In fact, the next two chapters reveal the bleak spiritual condition of the nation Israel itself. Official religious leadership is corrupt beyond hope (2:12–17, 22–25), and the nation has no access to a reforming prophetic message (3:1). It is to such a world that Samuel has been given for service.
