Big Idea: Families should work together to accomplish great things and avoid pinch points.

1.Successful families are built with a team concept.

• Not 2 but 1                                              Mark 10:7-8
• Prohibition of unequal partnerships       2 Corinthians 6:14
• Traits of church families.  1 Peter 3:8

If these are expected qualities of the overall church family, shouldn’t they be exceeded in our individual families?

• 1. be of one and the same mind (united in spirit), harmony
• 2. sympathizing [with one another], /To understand or be sensitive to another's feelings or ideas.
• 3. loving [each other] as brethren [of one household],
• 4. compassionate and courteous (tenderhearted and humble).

2. Characteristics that pinch or bind families 1 Peter 3:9

• Repaying evil for evil (No eye for eye)
• Repaying insults for insults

3.        Winning Attitudes of Wives 1 Peter 3:1-6

• Possibilities of submissiveness (to an unbelieving husband)
• Possibilities of submissiveness to a believing husband
• A gentle and peaceful spirit

4.        Winning Attitudes of Husbands 1 Peter 3:7

• Possibilities of husbands who are considerate with their wives.
• Possibilities of husbands who live intelligently with their wives.
• Possibilities of husbands who honor their wives
