“Where is the fault?  It lies in the training of children.  If we do not change our methods, the stream of crime, in the next fifty years, will overflow its banks beyond control, and our country will be verily drenched with crime.  Wait, brethren, till your children come home full of worldliness, indifferent to, if not despising, the church., and then weep and say, ‘We sent to the wrong school.’  Hold to your money; hug it to your heart, and send your children where the religion of our Lord is scoffed at and worldliness runs rife.  Put your money into hogs, cattle, alfalfa, and more land, and let your children grow up in an environment that can but curse them eternally.  Let your daughters marry the ‘toughs’ of that environment because of your inexcusable mistake in putting money into homes instead of your children.  Go on, but know thou that for all these things God will brines thee into judgment!”
