If Branches could talk
1. R: All we ever get is the same old sap! When can we have something different?
G: How about some apple or orange sap for a change! Or vegetable drinks?
R: Wow, I could have a V-8!
2. G: This sap is so sweet. We need a diet sap! Something that is healthier for us.
R: If I keep drinking this sweet stuff I'm going to get sick!
3. G: Why can't we have a prettier flower? The apple blossoms are so much prettier than our flowers. Everybody loves them when they are in bloom, but you never see anyone oohing and aahing over our flowers.
4. R: I'm tired of always bearing the same fruit—grapes—doesn't He know there is other fruit out there?
G: How about plums? Or peaches?
5. R: Why do we always have to bear the fruit? Doesn't the vine know that fruit is heavy and weighs us down?
G: My back is hurting me so bad from carrying all this fruit around.
R: He ought to try bearing a little fruit for a change!
6. R: Man, its hot out here today! Why do we always have to be the ones to have the sun beating down on us?
G: Yeah, we have to grow leaves so the vine can have shade!
R: And who is it that always gets caught in the wind and rain storms? Us of course!
7. R: I heard the gardener say the other day that some branches didn't grow fruit anymore. You know what he did?
G: No what?
R: He cut them off and threw them in the fire!
G: Oh My! Now what did those branches do to deserve such terrible treatment?
R: I don't think He likes us branches very much.
8. G: Wait, let’s think about it a minute. We are the way we are because He made us that way. He must really love us. In fact,
R & G: He wants us to hang on to him for dear life!
