THE LOOK OF LOVE

Luke 22:61

“and the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter.”

I.                   In spite of what He is facing, notice the Lord’s attention towards Peter.

A.    Not of condemnation.

A popular belief among many, that the Lord is just waiting for us to mess up, so He can accuse us.

B.     Not of disgrace or disappointment.

C.     Only one of deep concern.

Example:

The typical way of Christ.

1.      To the women of Israel….. Luke 23:28

2.      To the world…… Luke 23:34

3.      To the thief…… Luke 23:43

4.      To His mother Mary, and John….. John 19:26-27

II.                In spite of our short comings, let us always remember the caring, watchful eye of God’s love.

A.    Not excusing.

B.     Not condemning.

C.     But a deep concern for our spiritual growth.
