The Consequences of Lust
The Consequences of Lust
This is more than a story about how a king beheaded a prophet.
This is more than a story about how a king beheaded a prophet.
It is a story about why a lost man could not discern the voice of God
It is a story about why a lost man could not discern the voice of God
It is a story about why a lost man went to hell.
It is a story about why a lost man went to hell.
It is where you can see the curtains pulled back and you can see the struggle for man's soul between God and satan.
It is an illustration of the verse that says this is the condemnation light is come into the World and men loved darkness rather than light.
It is where you can see the curtains pulled back and you can see the struggle for man's soul between God and satan.
It is to show you that in every spiritual struggle you are the only one that can cast the deciding vote.
It is to show you that in every spiritual struggle you are the only one that can cast the deciding vote.
Three main characters in this Story there is John the baptist. Herod and herodias
Let me show you what I am talking about
Who was John the baptist ? a prophet . the greatest man born of woman ? a preacher , he was referred to as the voice of one crying in the wilderness.
The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
Three main characters in this Story there is John the baptist. Herod and herodias
What was his message repentance righteousness and judgment to come
Who was John the baptist ? a prophet . the greatest man born of woman ? a preacher , he was referred to as the voice of one crying in the wilderness.
Luk_3:9 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
What was his message repentance righteousness and judgment to come
John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:
Luk_3:9 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.
He preached repentance.
John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:
So what was he in herods life?
Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.
The voice of God , like his conscience or how the Holy Spirit works in our life to bring us to repentance and point us to the Lamb.
He preached repentance.
So what was he in herods life?
And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
The voice of God , like his conscience or how the Holy Spirit works in our life to bring us to repentance and point us to the Lamb.
This is what his message to him was
And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.
He was the voice of God in herods life.
Like paul with herodias's brother feilix Act_24:25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.
Now there is Herodias
This is what his message to him was
Who was she his brothers wife , his cousin , she was that which is forbidden
For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.
What sin caused him to take her ?
For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
He was the voice of God in herods life.
Lust define this Unlawful desire of carnal pleasure . in this context to covet sexally what is not yours
Now there is Herodias
She represented lust in his life she represented pleasure forbidden sin.
1Pe_2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
Who was she his brothers wife , his cousin , she was that which is forbidden
What sin caused him to take her ?
The voice of God on one side and the voice of lust on the other side
Lust define this
Than there was herod in the middle of two voices calling him
Who was he was called in history herod atipas
She represented lust in his life she represented pleasure forbidden sin.
1Pe_2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
his father herod the great tried to kill Jesus and killed all the children in his realm 2 and under.
And he inherited part of a kingdom when he died tetrarch of Galilee
The voice of God on one side and the voice of lust on the other side
But more importantly in this battle between good and evil between the flesh and the spirit between god and satan in your life.
Than there was herod in the middle of two voices calling him
Who was he was called in history herod atipas
Look at this Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:
He is the one that casts the deciding vote on whose voice would control his life the voice of God or the voice of his sin
his father herod the great tried to kill Jesus and killed all the children in his realm 2 and under.
And he inherited part of a kingdom when he died tetrarch of Galilee
Never forget in this great spiritual war we are in and we fight from day today God tries to influence you and the devil tries to influence you but you are the one that casts the deciding vote.
You decide weather to refuse the fruit and depend on God for your advancement or you eat the fruit and depend on the devil for your ruin.
But more importantly
Look at this Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:
Lets watch this battle play out in the bible and lets see the consequences of allowing lust to control a person’s life.
Weather you are saved or you are lost lust leads to destruction it destroyed herod a lost man and would have destroyed the young man in the church at corinth a saved man deliver him to satan for the destruction of the flesh that the spirit may be saved.
He is the one that casts the deciding vote on whose voice would control his life the voice of God or the voice of his sin
Never forget in this great spiritual war we are in and we fight from day today God tries to influence you and the devil tries to influence you but you are the one that casts the deciding vote.
So what are those consequences what is the fine print on the contract a person agrees to with lust . Men or women it takes to to commit adultery. With her
You decide weather to refuse the fruit and depend on God for your advancement or you eat the fruit and depend on the devil for your ruin.
In a man's life it is wanting in a woman's life it is being wanted that is why women take more selfies. They want to be wanted and that is Ok if it is your husband but that is the only way it is ok.

It Ruins You Spiritually

Lets watch this battle play out in the bible and lets see the consequences of allowing lust to control a person’s life.
Weather you are saved or you are lost lust leads to destruction it destroyed herod a lost man and would have destroyed the young man in the church at corinth a saved man deliver him to satan for the destruction of the flesh that the spirit may be saved.
By that I mean your relationship with God you cannot have a healthy relationship with the Lord
So what are those consequences what is the fine print on the contract a person agrees to with lust . Men or women it takes to to commit adultery. With her
Whatever God intended your relationship between you and him to be it cannot be healthy as long as you are cheating on him.
For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
In a man's life it is wanting in a woman's life it is being wanted that is why women take more selfies. They want to be wanted and that is Ok if it is your husband but that is the only way it is ok.

Messes with your motivation

It Ruins Your Spiritually

By that I mean your relationship with God you cannot have a healthy relationship with the Lord
For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
Whatever God intended your relationship between you and him to be it cannot be healthy as long as you are cheating on him.
Fear becomes your motivation for what you do
Fear is something God put in you to keep you from danger
And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.
Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.
To keep you from touching a snake god put that fear in you
But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead.
To help you prepare for the danger ahead Noah moved with fear and prepared an ark many of us got saved because of fear of hell
The bible says in My flesh tremble for fear of thee; and I am afraid of thy judgments.
For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife: for he had married her.
God put it in you for prohibition to inhibition to inhibit your sinful destructive actions.
For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.
Fear is what comes over you when you are questioned on a lie you told
Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:
Fear is what comes over you in a dangerous situation guy hospital in combat my bones were shaking not something I could control.
For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
But that should not be our primary motivation for serving the Lord.

Messes with your motivation

For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
Joh_14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Fear becomes your motivation for what you do
Joh_14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Fear is something God put in you to keep you from danger
IF I do not do this God will get me
But with herodias in your life you have a bad conscience
To keep you from touching a snake god put that fear in you
To help you prepare for the danger ahead Noah moved with fear and prepared an ark many of us got saved because of fear of hell
And your service and all you do for the Lord is motivated by fear.
The bible says in My flesh tremble for fear of thee; and I am afraid of thy judgments.
The bible says the wicked flee when no man pursueth.

Why would he make that connection ?
Did John ever do miracles.
But with herodias in your life you have a bad conscience
And your service and all you do for the Lord is motivated by fear.
His conscience was activated
He skeletons in the closet

And those bones started to rattle

Messes with your mind

It was giving him anxiety. Messing with his mind
And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.
People are going to find out that I killed john to cover up an affair to please my mistress because she hated him
Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.
If we did not have a bible we would not know why he died
Josephas says that herod was scared of a rebellion because so many people were listening to john he imprisoned him lest a rebellion would start.
But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead.
Josephas did not know why he killed him but God told you he thought it was for a different reason and that was going to be exposed
When he heard about these works he said it is John
Why would he make that connection ?
But God in the bible preserved the character of John the baptist.
I murdered and covered it up.
Did John ever do miracles.
His conscience was activated
That reminds me of some things that have happened lately

Is it constantly on your mind?
But God in the bible preserved the character of John the baptist.
Is it ruining your relationship with the Lord?

One of the problems is it messes with your mind
Me too movement how many men were nervous those skeletons coming out.
It makes you nervous and instead of faith you have fear

It mortifies his moving

You see what lust does it imprisons the voice of God
Because you can't listen to two voices at the same time
Is it constantly on your mind?
And to be able to listen to the one you have to imprison the other
Is it ruining your relationship with the Lord?
What happens when you hear verses like you reap what you sow
Why did he do it did he want to no but he did it for the sake of his lust.
And be sure your sin will find you out?
Oh lust is a powerful thing
And God will be trying to speak to you saying it is not lawful
Nothing covered that will not be revealed
One of the problems is it messes with your mind
What you are doing is wrong
It makes you nervous and instead of faith you have fear
You know it is wrong to look upon the nakedness of a woman that is not your wife

It mortifies his moving

You know it is wrong to enjoy the way men look at you when you walk a certain way or dress a certain way.
For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife: for he had married her.
God says no
God tells you what if that were your daughter how would you feel with som pervert going in to her room with a video camera ?
You see what lust does it imprisons the voice of God
Think about the suicides and the life styles and how many women get out of that life style alive and with their minds intact.
Because you can't listen to two voices at the same time
Think about the sex trafficers and the saddness and hooror of the lives of those young people that get caught up in that.
And to be able to listen to the one you have to imprison the other
Why did he do it did he want to no but he did it for the sake of his lust.
And you are part of the problem
You are no different than the people on the sex registery
Oh lust is a powerful thing
You are like jeffery epstine in secret
And God will be trying to speak to you saying it is not lawful
And if you are a christian what business does a child of God have being involved in that filth?
What you are doing is wrong
The things you say you stand against
You know it is wrong to look upon the nakedness of a woman that is not your wife
Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
You know it is wrong to enjoy the way men look at you when you walk a certain way or dress a certain way.
And the holy spirit is saying this is not for you flee like a bird from the hand of the fowler
God says no
God tells you what if that were your daughter how would you feel with som pervert going in to her room with a video camera ?
But you put in prison the voice of God so herodias can come and shackle you to your sin.
Think about the suicides and the life styles and how many women get out of that life style alive and with their minds intact.
You mortify the moving of God in your life
Think about the sex trafficers and the saddness and hooror of the lives of those young people that get caught up in that.
How can he help you grow in prison ?
And you are part of the problem
How can he guide your steps? when you have imprisoned him
How can he work in your life when you have imprisoned him ?
You are no different than the people on the sex registery
You are like jeffery epstine in secret
And he talks and he talks but the longer you keep him in prison the fainter the voice gets and the louder the voice of lust becomes
And if you are a christian what business does a child of God have being involved in that filth?
To where you do not know if it is the preacher or God himself that is talking
To the point where you mistake the preachers voice and confuse it with the voice of God and you discount it because that is the preacher
The things you say you stand against
That is the holy spirit of God the preacher is not with you in your computer at three in the morning
Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
What ever told you to do that and it was ok was not God it was herodias and you imprisoned the voice of God so you could listen to her voice.
And the holy spirit is saying this is not for you flee like a bird from the hand of the fowler
But you put in prison the voice of God so herodias can come and shackle you to your sin.
You know if you would listen to the voice of God it is wrong
You mortify the moving of God in your life
But you have mortified the moving of God in your life
Look at this
How can he help you grow in prison ?
Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:
How can he guide your steps? when you have imprisoned him
Lust will not be satisfied till she has killed the voice of God in your life
How can he work in your life when you have imprisoned him ?
But only you can do that
And he talks and he talks but the longer you keep him in prison the fainter the voice gets and the louder the voice of lust becomes
Only you have the final vote to mortify his calling his moving in your life
To where you do not know if it is the preacher or God himself that is talking
To the point where you mistake the preachers voice and confuse it with the voice of God and you discount it because that is the preacher
For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
That is the holy spirit of God the preacher is not with you in your computer at three in the morning
She relegates your service to
Observation just watching John preach
What ever told you to do that and it was ok was not God it was herodias and you imprisoned the voice of God so you could listen to her voice.
You know if you would listen to the voice of God it is wrong
If you are here and herodias has convinced you to put the voice of God in Prison
You are just watching just observing
But you have mortified the moving of God in your life
Watching other people be a christian and pat yourself on the back for coming to the game because you put on your jersey but you never go on the field to run
Look at this
Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:
Hearing he was a hearing of the word not a doer deceiving his own selves
Lust will not be satisfied till she has killed the voice of God in your life
If that is you you just listening not learning but listening
I like that sound I love to hear him preach
But only you can do that
Only you have the final vote to mortify his calling his moving in your life
Teach me something spiritual herod I do not know but you ought to hear John preach.
Partial obedience watching listening and half obedience
For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
She relegates your service to
Many things gladly
Except for the most important things
Observation just watching John preach
Many things but to send your cousin back to her husband your brother no
If you are here and herodias has convinced you to put the voice of God in Prison
But I will do this and this
You are just watching just observing
Watching other people be a christian and pat yourself on the back for coming to the game because you put on your jersey but you never go on the field to run
I will sing I will give I will go I will hear but to repent and change my ways no not that.
Hearing he was a hearing of the word not a doer deceiving his own selves
But to listen to 18 no not going to do that
If that is you you just listening not learning but listening
Let me ask you has herodias ruined your life spiritually speaking ?

It Requires Your Substance

I like that sound I love to hear him preach
Teach me something spiritual herod I do not know but you ought to hear John preach.
And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.
And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.
Partial obedience watching listening and half obedience
Lust will not stop at taking away your spiritual life lust will also take away everything you own
Many things gladly
How she does this is progessive
Except for the most important things
She does not ask for it all at first only half
Many things but to send your cousin back to her husband your brother no
But I will do this and this

You become Self focused

And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;
I will sing I will give I will go I will hear but to repent and change my ways no not that.
But to listen to 18 no not going to do that
He threw himself a birthday party
Who does that ?
Let me ask you has herodias ruined your life spiritually speaking ?

It Requires Your Substance

Not wrong to do that but it just shows you his mindset
And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;
I learned a great truth from Jimmy Johns
And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.
There comes a day when you need to stop expecting every one to make a big deal out of your birthday. That day is when you turn 12.
self focused threw himself a birthday party
And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.
And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.
That is what lust is what I want
And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.

You become sin focused

And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.
And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.
Lust is what I want what makes me happy, I do not want to miss out
Lust will not stop at taking away your spiritual life lust will also take away everything you own
How she does this is progessive
My desire
I deserve it
She does not ask for it all at first only half

You become Self focused

My clock is ticking now or never Barber young woman
And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;
And you start spending all your attention and your substance on you
Have a birthday party and have my niece come in and dance for me
He threw himself a birthday party
Who does that ?
My brothers daughter
Not wrong to do that but it just shows you his mindset
Why
And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;
I learned a great truth from Jimmy Johns
It is what I want and it is convenient she is here it is easier that way
There comes a day when you need to stop expecting every one to make a big deal out of your birthday. That day is when you turn 12.
self focused threw himself a birthday party
Lust works by convenience and concession
It is easier than fixing the problem in my marriage and having my appetites fulfilled there
That is what lust is what I want
It is easier than having going out and getting married the computer is here my phone is here

You become sin focused

And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.
It is convenient
Why not
Lust is what I want what makes me happy, I do not want to miss out
It is what makes me happy
My desire
Drinking the same way not good for society not good for family is not good for the body of christ but good for you focused on self
I deserve it
Convenient so you concede you give in.
My clock is ticking now or never
Sin works by convenience and concession but the holy spirit works by conviction and consecration
And you start spending all your attention and your substance on you
Have a birthday party and have my niece come in and dance for me

You Sacrificially Fulfill it

And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.
My brothers daughter
Why
And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.
And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;
And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.
It is what I want and it is conviennat she is here it is easer that way
And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
It starts out incrementally were you will not give in you will not kill the preacher
Lust works by convience and consession
It is easier than fixing the problem in my marrige and having my appitites fulfilled there
and pretty soon you will sacrifice everything on it s alter up to the half of my kingdom
On a trip to Rome Herod traveled to his brothers kingdom and stayed with Philip And he fell in love with his wife herodias while staying with his own brother. They both left their spouses and for each other each other. But before Herodias would agree to go with herod she said you have to divorce your first wife. the daughter of Aretas, king of Arabia. He was not going to tell her but she got wind of it and did not tell Herod. She said she wanted to go to “Machaerus” to (Makerus) at the edge of his kingdom she escaped to Arabia and got her father worked up so they both raised up these armies and Herod's army was destroyed by his father inlaw and his brother philips army joined the king of arabia's army to destroy herod and the reason he lost was because of this affair and killing john the baptist that led to his downfall
It is easier than having going out and getting married the computer is here my phone is here
It cost him more than he was willing to pay
It is convientant
Why not
But when you are addicted to herodias and you are going down that path you will stop at nothing to fulfill your lust
It is what makes me happy
Herodias was King Agrippa's Sister. And he fell on hard time and had a great debt he could not pay so Herod started a town called tiberias and said I will take care of you you can run that town and we will be charitable and take care of you. Well he had to escape by sea from his creditors and went to Rome and through political connections he became a king over that whole region. Herodias got jealous when she saw that he had a greater dignity bestowed on him than her husband had; since, when he ran away, it was because he was not able to pay his debts; and now he was come back, it was because he was in a way of dignity, and of great good fortune. She was therefore grieved and much displeased at so great a mutation of his affairs; and chiefly when she saw him marching among the multitude with the usual ensigns of royal authority, she was not able to conceal how miserable she was, by reason of the envy she had towards him; but she excited her husband, and desired him that he would sail to Rome, to court honors equal to his;or she said that she could not bear to live any longer, while Agrippa, and do not thou bear this contempt, that a man who admired thy riches should be in greater honor than thyself, nor suffer his poverty to show itself able to purchase greater things than our abundance; nor do thou esteem it other than a shameful thing to be inferior to one who, the other day, lived upon thy charity. 4But let us go to Rome, and let us spare no pains nor expenses, either of silver or gold, since they cannot be kept for any better use than for the obtaining of a kingdom.” But for Herod, he opposed her request at this time, out of the love of ease, and having a suspicion of the trouble he should have at Rome; so he tried to instruct her better. But the more she saw him draw back, the more she pressed him to it, and desired him to leave no stone unturned in order to be king;and at last she left not off till she engaged him, whether he would or not, to be of her sentiments, because he could no otherwise avoid her importunity. So he got all things ready, after as sumptuous a manner as he was able, and spared for nothing, and went up to Rome, and took Herodias along with him
Agippa got wind of it and sent letters ahead told about herod's army and that he would take it by force and Caius took this as evidence he would revolt against his authority and took Herod's kingdom from him and gave it to agrippa along with all his money and banished him to gaul
Drinking the same way not good for society not good for family is not good for the body of christ but good for you focused on self
Convienat so you conceed you give in.
Hereupon Caius was angry at her, and sent her with Herod into banishment, and gave her estate to Agrippa. And thus did God punish Herodias for her envy at her brother, and Herod also for giving ear to the vain discourses of a woman.
The Lord will say why did you listen

But he was already marred to the daughter of Aretas, king of Arabia. During a trip to Rome, Antipas lodged with his brother, Herod, and fell in love with Herodias, his brother’s wife. They both left their spouses and for eachother each other. But before herodias would agree to go with herod she said you have to divorce your first wife. She heard about it but did not tell herod she herd about it and said she wanted to go to “Machaerus” at the edge of his kigdom she escabed to arabia and got her father worked up so they both raised up these armies and herods army was destroyed by his father inlaw and his brother philips army joined the king of arabias army to destroy herod and the reason he lost was because of this afair and that led to his downfall

But Herodias, Agrippa’s sister, who now lived as wife to that Herod who was tetrarch of Galilee and Perea, took this authority of her brother in an envious manner, particularly when she saw that he had a greater dignity bestowed on him than her husband had; since, when he ran away, it was because he was not able to pay his debts; and now he was come back, it was because he was in a way of dignity, and of great good fortune. She was therefore grieved and much displeased at so great a mutation of his affairs; and chiefly when she saw him marching among the multitude with the usual ensigns of royal authority, she was not able to conceal how miserable she was, by reason of the envy she had towards him; but she excited her husband, and desired him that he would sail to Rome, to court honors equal to his;or she said that she could not bear to live any longer, while Agrippa, the son of that Aristobulus who was condemned to die by his father, one that came to her husband in such extreme poverty, that the necessaries of life were forced to be entirely supplied him day by day; and when he fled away from his creditors by sea, he now returned a king; while he was himself the son of a king, and while the near relation he bare to royal authority called upon him to gain the like dignity, he sat still, and was contented with a privater life. But then, Herod, although thou wast formerly not concerned to be in a lower condition than thy father from whom thou wast derived had been, yet do thou now seek after the dignity which thy kinsman hath attained to; and do not thou bear this contempt, that a man who admired thy riches should be in greater honor than thyself, nor suffer his poverty to show itself able to purchase greater things than our abundance; nor do thou esteem it other than a shameful thing to be inferior to one who, the other day, lived upon thy charity. So he got all things ready, after as sumptuous a manner as he was able, and spared for nothing, and went up to Rome, and took Herodias along with him.7But Agrippa, when he was made sensible of their intentions and preparations, he also prepared to go thither; and as soon as he heard they set sail, he sent Fortunatus, one of his freed-men, to Rome, to carry presents to the emperor, and letters against Herod, and to give Caius a particular account of those matters, if he should have any opportunity. This man followed Herod so quick, and had so prosperous a voyage, and came so little after Herod, that while Herod was with Caius, he came himself, and delivered his letters; for they both sailed to Dicearchia, and found Caius at Bairn, which is itself a little city of Campania, at the distance of about five furlongs from Dicearchia. There are in that place royal palaces, with sumptuous apartments, every emperor still endeavoring to outdo his predecessor’s magnificence; the place also affords warm baths, that spring out of the ground of their own accord, which are of advantage for the recovery of the health of those that make use of them; and, besides, they minister to men’s luxury also. Now Caius saluted Herod, for he first met with him, and then looked upon the letters which Agrippa had sent him, and which were written in order to accuse Herod; wherein he accused him, that he had been in confederacy with Sejanus against Tiberius’s and that he was now confederate with Artabanus, the king of Parthia, in opposition to the government of Caius;1as a demonstration of which he alleged, that he had armor sufficient for seventy thousand men ready in his armory. Caius was moved at this information, and asked Herod whether what was said about the armor was true; when he confessed there was such armor there, for he could not deny the same, the truth of it being too notorious, Caius took that to be a sufficient proof of the accusation, that he intended to revolt. So he took away from him his tetrarchy, and gave it by way of addition to Agrippa’s kingdom; he also gave Herod’s money to Agrippa,

Lust is not content to ruin spiritually
That is exactly what happened to herod
It is not content to get everything you have
Lust wants to wrap its tentacles around you and wreck your soul
How much of your wealth does lust have ?
Change who you are into a monster of iniquity were you will do things you never thought possible but it happened slowly it taught you how to justify small things which taught you how to justify huge things.
How many hours of productivity has it stolen
How much good knowledge has it stolen
The same lust that justified putting the preacher in prison was made to justify taking his head off.
How much time away from your family has it stolen ?

It substitutes sorrow for salvation

And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.

It Wrecks your Soul Mark 6:24-29

And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.
And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.
At this point he knew he made a mistake
And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.
And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,
And he was sorry he really was it was sad to cut the head off of the preacher
And offer it in a charger to his god that he worshiped
And brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother.
And his offering was one silver charger, the weight thereof was an hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary; both of them were full of fine flour mingled with oil for a meat offering:
And when his disciples heard of it, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.
Lust is not content to ruin spiritually
One spoon of ten shekels of gold, full of incense:
One young bullock, one ram, one lamb of the first year, for a burnt offering:
It is not content to get everything you have
Lust wants to wrap its tentacles around you and wreck your soul
One kid of the goats for a sin offering:
And for a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five he goats, five lambs of the first year: this was the offering of Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
Change who you are into a monster of iniquity were you will do things you never thought possible but it happened slowly it taught you how to justify small things which taught you how to justify huge things.

It substitutes sorrow for salvation

You see lust wrecks your soul
And what is most precious you offer it to your god on a silver platter.
And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.
And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
The time , the love , the inocense , the dignity , the purity , the love of his people ,
You take all of that and offer it to herodias to the god of lust
And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.
Lust wrecks your soul because it is idolitry
At this point he knew he made a mistake
And he was sorry he really was it was sad to cut the head off of the preacher
You give what belongs to God to the spirit of whordom it is demonic
And offer it in a charger to his god that he worshiped
And it wrecks your soul
Woh he was sorry
And his offering was one silver charger, the weight thereof was an hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary; both of them were full of fine flour mingled with oil for a meat offering:
He was sorry but not unto repentance
One spoon of ten shekels of gold, full of incense:
One young bullock, one ram, one lamb of the first year, for a burnt offering:
He felt bad just like some of you do after each affair with lust.
But he did not have godly sorrow
One kid of the goats for a sin offering:
And for a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five he goats, five lambs of the first year: this was the offering of Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
You so focused on how to repent you have ignored what brings about repentance
You see lust wrecks your soul
Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.
For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
And what is most precious you offer it to your god on a silver platter.
The time , the love , the inocense , the dignity , the purity , the love of his people ,
If you were sorry after a godly sort you would repent but you not sorry
You take all of that and offer it to herodias to the god of lust
I remember one night lying on my bed fighting with this battle and i was mad and frustrated the Lord said what do you need to make you happy me or herodias i said herodias he said how log will you worship this false God
Lust wrecks your soul because it is idolitry
I broke down got down beside my bed and wept like a baby long into the night and it has not been the same since.
You give what belongs to God to the spirit of whordom it is demonic

It spoils your sanity

And it wrecks your soul
And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.

He imprisoned John than he was banished from his life gaul to live in misery and poverty

But she made this reply: “Thou, indeed, O emperor! actest after a magnificent manner, and as becomes thyself in what thou offerest me; but the kindness which I have for my husband hinders me from partaking of the favor of thy gift; for it is not just that I, who have been made a partner in his prosperity, should forsake him in his misfortunes.”
And you know the worst part of it was she went with him. She follows you to the nursing home to make sure you do not repent

Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:
That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.
For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,
And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,
Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,
In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:
And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.
(She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:
Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)
So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,
I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.
Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.
I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.
I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.
For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:
He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.
With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.
