Introduction
It’s been said that a church can rise no higher than the collective prayer of its members.
We have been tasked by Pastor to pray.
To pray for the youth, to pray for the preaching and to pray for the camp in general.
So I want to take a few moments and look into the Word of God for direction, clarity and purpose in this task.
In one aspect we are told to be constant in our prayer, and in all things make supplication to God.
In everything we should make supplication to God.
However, we are taking this general truth and applying it to a specific situation.
When we pray for a specific situation we are committing to the situation.
A supplication with no intent will yield little results.
Prayer is not reading from a laundry list, with little passion or care for the items listed.
Prayer is not throwing darts at a dartboard with different prizes, knowing you won’t get them all, but hoping for something
Prayer is being in direct relationship with Christ our Lord, and we bring our petition in the name of Jesus Christ, for all power and authority has been given to our King and Savior Jesus Christ.
1 Sam 12:
I.
We are going to call upon the Lord.
We are going to pray that thunder and rain will come upon the camp to create a great fear in the Lord.
2. We are going to pray that the kids acknowledge and face their own sin and repent.
3. We are going to pray that the kids turn neither to the left nor the right, but keep straight in the way they should go
4. We are going to pray that walk away from vain things
Jer 2:
5. we shall pray that we sin not by being unwilling to pray for those who have been put in our charge.
Jer 2:
