Jewish thinking placed high importance on meterial wealth. In His public ministery Christ repededly rebuked this way of thinking.

19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, 23 but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
I. your tresure (V.19-21)

A true Believer would lay up his tresuers in Heaven where they would be exempt from moth which would eat silks and rust which would corrupt jewelry

there your heart will be-Jews of the time typically perceived the heart as the seat of intellegence and will. Jesues’ teaching reflects this view: People’s choices and actions are shaped by the things they carish most. It is not the weath Christ in concerned with but their loyalty
Serve God and money: The Problum that Jesues identifies is not money itself but the divided loyaltees that resault from the persuit of money being a diciple of Christ requires complete devotion to God
II. Point 2 (22-24)

This is the call for individulized loyalty to God the eye is the lamp of the Body it enables the body to find its way
