Amen. (let it be so)
Outline?
God deserves worship (ascribing to him the glory, majesty, dominion, and authority that belongs to him alone past, present, and future)...
…because of what he is doing!
He is keeping us from stumbling and will present us blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy (v. 24).
Just as God is keeping rebellious angels in gloomy darkness, he will keep his own from stumbling into apostasy.
It is God who keeps us along the narrow way.
The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand.
He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.
Pslam
And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day.
And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”
No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”
It is God who makes us blameless.
For I feel a divine jealousy for you, since I betrothed you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ.
so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
It is God who does this for his joy and ours.
looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory,
…because of who he is!
He is the only God, our Savior (v. 25).
All other supposed “gods” are demons in disguise of saviors.
God is by nature a saving God.

He is the Savior all people.
For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.

Obviously he is not the Savior of all people in the same sense.
He is the Savior of all people in a common sense.
We all breathe the same air and feel the same sun on our skin.
We all have experienced great mercy in not being cast into Hell the very moment we first sinned.
However, God is the Savior of believers in a special sense.
God sent his Son Jesus to pay the price for their sins.
Jesus was raised as proof that their sins were defeated and death will not hold them just as it was not able to hold him.
They will live with God forever in the paradise of Heaven experiencing unimaginable wonder and joy.
He doesn’t wish anyone to perish.
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
Some will perish, but not because God desires them to perish. He desires everyone to turn from sin by turning to him through faith in his Son, Jesus.
Our lives ought to reflect the doctrine of God our Savior.
for that indeed is what you are doing to all the brothers throughout Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers, to do this more and more,
…through Jesus Christ our Lord!
For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.
not pilfering, but showing all good faith, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.
Bondservants are to be submissive to their own masters in everything; they are to be well-pleasing, not argumentative, not pilfering, but showing all good faith, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.
We are bondservants or slaves of God. Our lives have been purchased at a price and therefore should be decorated with the salvation we’ve experienced.
This is so that God our Savior would be trusted by those who observe our lives.
…through Jesus Christ our Lord!
The only way to have God keep us and present us; the only way to ascribe to him glory, majesty, dominion, and authority before all time, now, and forevermore is through trust in and obedience to Jesus Christ our Lord (v. 25b).
Jesus is the only way of salvation.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Jesus is the only manifestation of salvation.
and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,
There is no other name to call on for salvation, save the Name of Jesus.
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
ESV Study Bible descriptions of...
glory = he is deserving of the greatest honor
majesty = he is greater than all
dominion = his sovereign reign has no boundaries
authority = he rules over all creation
Jude calls us to join in the worship of Heaven now. The qualities of glory, majesty, dominion, and authority make up the content of the hymns of Heaven. They should make up the content of our hymns on earth as well.
the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying, “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”
saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!” And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!” And the four living creatures said, “Amen!” and the elders fell down and worshiped.
