Open with Central Park 5 and explain the tension on what it means that God keeps us.

God provides Shelter (1-4)

The Shelter is the secret place…There is a sense of intimacy. The Psalm writer has been threw something. The first two scriptures are a testimony as it is a personal expression. Not only in this short portion of the Psalm does the writer make it personal but he also gives us four different names/titles of God. In other words the writer knows what its like to be in danger but to come out on the other end fully convinced that God was trust worthy. (Preach)
I like in verse 3, where he says he will delivery you from the snare of the trapper. This is where it gets real church, because it lets us know that from time to time we may fall for the trap. Sometimes we may get trapped. (elaborate) But, God does not always prevent us from the trap, but he always will deliver you out of it!

God Provides Security (5-10)

They say that darkness is the absence of light. And that is true. And what we know even as adults is that there is a natural disdain for darkness. That even as adults there is still and preference for light when it comes to safety. But, When you know God you don’t have to be afraid of the dark because God is with you in the darkness. And on the flip side of the coin in the daytime the enemies of Israel could see to aim and shoot, but God provides good Security. He is there the entire time
A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not approach you.
