No portion, No right, No memorial
Nehemiah, a Jewish Governor and cup bearer under King Artaxerxes I, given permission in 455 B.C. to return to Jerusalem to build the walls that had been destroyed by captivity and neglect, had his naysayers (Sanballat the Horonite, Tobiah the Ammonite, Geshem the Arabian), yet with foundational, effectual, fervent prayer, unwavering faith accompanied with works (active faith), he was able to guide and lead the children of Israel to rebuild the wall in a record, divinely influenced time frame (52 days). In the process he dealth with external ridicule, threats of death, lies as well as internal strife amongst the people. Nehemiah always prayed first, yet backed up his faith with works and the true historical account of the building of the wall shows the power of God in the resoration of HIS people.
