As we dive into this chapter of 2 Corinthians see many popular and powerful verses. V. 7 says, “For we walk by faith and not by sight.” Verse number 17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” And after talking about a new believer becoming a new creature verse number 20 says that we are given a new mission. We become Christ’s “ambassador” here on earth.

a gentleman, sitting in the lobby, offered to share his room with this salesman. Gratefully the traveler accepted his kindness.
As believers, being an ambassador for Christ is our true vocation.

Declaration: Today I want you to know and I want you to realize this evening that God wants each and everyone one of us, who are born again believers, to participate in this ministry of reconciliation that's talked about in verse 18.
Just before going to bed, the man who had shown such hospitality to this salesman, knelt and prayed aloud. In his petition he referred to the salesman by name and asked the Lord to save him.

Upon awakening the next morning, the gentleman, told his guest it was his habit to read the Bible and commune with God at the beginning of each day, and he asked salesman if he would like to join him. The Holy Spirit had been speaking to the heart of this salesman, and when his host tactfully confronted him with the claims of Christ, he gladly accepted Christ as his Savior.

God wants us to realize that we as Christians are called to help those people who are lost, to see their problem of sin and help the to see the solution in the Savior Jesus Christ. And the main thing to remember is that God is the only who can restore those relations, but He has given us an opportunity to participate in this ministry of reconciliation.

As the two were ready to depart, they exchanged business cards. And as the salesman looked at that card, the new believer was amazed to read, “William Jennings Bryan, the Secretary of State.”

Transitional Sentence: And if we want to be Ambassadors for Christ and live the diplomatic life, we need to accomplish these three tasks in our life.
You see William Jennings Bryan was not only the Secretary of State under Woodrow Wilson, but more importantly he was an ambassador for Christ.

Understand our Responsibility – Because we understand our fearful responsibility to the Lord, we work hard to persuade others.

The word persuade in the Greek means to make clear. It has the sense of not winning an argument, but rather making a person understand. Teaching teenagers something like geometry does not happen in one class period. It takes a semester or two, and it's during this time that you help them understand the different facets of geometry.

These false teachers lived an unauthentic Christian life. They lived not for God, but they lived praise of men. And If we live only for the praise of men, we will not win the praise of God at the judgment seat of Christ.
We are the outsiders.

Paul here speaks of some charges brought against him by the false teachers in Corinth. They had accused him of many things as we just took a look at, within all the accusations that the false apostles threw at Paul one of those accusations was the charge that Paul was “beside himself” or in other words, crazy. Even today many people look upon dedicated Christians, and view them as being a little “different.”

These Christians at Corinth should have commended Paul not condemn him! They were promoting the false teachers, who gloried in appearance, but were unspiritual in heart.

For us to live a Christian life that is real, we need to be like the apostle Paul. We need to do our best to show people all around us that inside and out we are authentic, we are real.

The question comes back to us.
Are we willing to share the message of the Gospel with them or not?
It is said that D. L. Moody made a commitment to God that he would not go to bed without having witnessed to at least one person.
On several occasions he went out late at night to find someone with whom he could share the Gospel with.
In our lives here today, there should be a sense of urgency and passion for the lost. This should drive us and motivate us to do our jobs and be effective ambassadors for Jesus Christ.
Tomorrow or even just this week, I encourage you to share the Gospel with someone.
A friend,
a coworker,
someone you meet at McDonalds,
anyone.
Share the Gospel with someone this week, because you never know. You never know who may be getting their last chance to hear the Good News.
Remember the Good news is only Good News if it gets there in time.
