As we dive into this chapter of 2 Corinthians see many popular and powerful verses. V. 7 says, “For we walk by faith and not by sight.” Verse number 17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” And after talking about a new believer becoming a new creature verse number 20 says that we are given a new mission. We become Christ’s “ambassador” here on earth.

The Practical diplomatic life.

“Late one night a salesman drove into a strange city and tried to get a room in a hotel. The clerk informed him that there was no vacancy. Disappointed, he started to leave the lobby

Just before going to bed, the man who had shown such hospitality to this salesman, knelt and prayed aloud. In his petition he referred to the salesman by name and asked the Lord to save him.

Upon awakening the next morning, the gentleman, told his guest it was his habit to read the Bible and commune with God at the beginning of each day, and he asked salesman if he would like to join him. The Holy Spirit had been speaking to the heart of this salesman, and when his host tactfully confronted him with the claims of Christ, he gladly accepted Christ as his Savior.

God wants us to realize that we as Christians are called to help those people who are lost, to see their problem of sin and help the to see the solution in the Savior Jesus Christ. And the main thing to remember is that God is the only who can restore those relations, but He has given us an opportunity to participate in this ministry of reconciliation.

Transitional Sentence: And if we want to be Ambassadors for Christ and live the diplomatic life, we need to accomplish these three tasks in our life.

The story is told of a zoo that was noted for their great collection of different animals. But sadly one day the gorilla died, and to keep up the appearance of a full range of animals, the zookeeper hired a man to wear a gorilla suit and fill in for the dead animal.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

It was his first day on the job, and the man didn’t know how to act like a gorilla very well. As he tried to move convincingly, he got too close to the wall of the enclosure and tripped and fell into the lion exhibit.

It is said that D. L. Moody made a commitment to God that he would not go to bed without having witnessed to at least one person.

On several occasions he went out late at night to find someone with whom he could share the Gospel with.

In our lives here today, there should be a sense of urgency and passion for the lost. This should drive us and motivate us to do our jobs and be effective ambassadors for Jesus Christ.

Tomorrow or even just this week, I encourage you to share the Gospel with someone.

A friend,

a coworker,

someone you meet at McDonalds,

anyone.

Share the Gospel with someone this week, because you never know. You never know who may be getting their last chance to hear the Good News.

Remember the Good news is only Good News if it gets there in time.
