There is never any real reward for those who retreat. Dwight E. Stevenson in his book, Faith Takes A Name, tells of the time that Cortez disembarked his five hundred conquistadors upon the eastern coast of Mexico. As soon as everyone was off the ships, Cortez ordered them to be burned. There was no turning back. It was either stand where they or go forward. It was too late to retreat.
