Lets use our imagination
1) Lets use our imagination
a) put yourselves in Mary’s place
i) she saw Jesus being crucified
ii) she knows that the body wasn’t properly prepared for burial
iii) Then she finds an empty tomb
2) Can imagine what was going through her mind?
a) Grief, shock, horror, insulted, and anger
b) she leaves the tomb and tells Peter and John
3) Peter and John couldn’t believe what Mary was telling her so they ran to the tomb to see for themselves
4) John beats Peter to the tomb but only looks in he doesn’t enter but waits for Peter. Why?
a) Fear, or just waiting for the leader to arrive out of respect
b) Peter didn’t wait when he arrived he went right in ( Peter was a man of action)
c) they saw some odd things
i) the strips of linen laying there in the place where Jesus’ body laid and the cloth that was around his head was folded by itself.
5) What does this mean was the question they asked
6) they believed Mary now the saw for themselves but where is Jesus?
7) the question is before us today Did Jesus rise from the grave?
8) The only person that can answer that question is you
9) What do you believe? at the later service we will see the rest of the story.

3So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. 4Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. 5He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in. 6Then Simon Peter, who was behind him, arrived and went into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there, 7as well as the burial cloth that had been around Jesus’ head. The cloth was folded up by itself, separate from the linen. 8Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside.
