ALWAYS TRIUMPHANT

II CORINTHIANS 2:14

Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

I.                   WE ARE IN A CONFLICT

A.    “TRIUMPH” SUGGESTS A BATTLE

B.    FROM CONVERSION TO DEATH

C.    WRESTLING AGAINST POWERS  EPHESIANS 6:10-18

D.    FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT  I TIMOTHY 6:12; II TIMOTHY 4:7

E.     DEVIL AS A ROARING LION  I PETER 5:8

F.     WE AGREE TO FIGHT  IN THIS SPIRITUAL WARFARE   II TIMOTHY 2:3,4

1.     THEREFORE ENDURE HARDNESS AS A GOOD SOLDIER  (V.3)

2.     PLEASE HIM WHO HATH CHOSEN HIM TO BE A SOLDIER

II.                HE CHOOSES

A.    IT IS NOT A DEFEATIST LIFE

B.    WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS  ROMANS       8:37

C.    CHRIST GIVES US POWER  LUKE 10:19

D.    DEFEAT IS NOT IN THE CHRISTIAN’S VOCABULARY  I JOHN 4:4 “GREATER IS HE”

E.     “BUT THANKS BE TO GOD, WHICH GIVETH US THE VICTORY THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST”  I CORINTHIANS 15:57

III.             OUR VICTORY IS NOT SPASMODIC BUT CONTINUOUS

A.    “ALWAYS” CAUSETH US TO TRIUMPH

B.    NOT UP ONE DAY DOWN THE OTHER

C.    HE IS A “PRESENT HELP IN TROUBLE”  PSALM 46;1

D.    CONTINUOUS, EVER ABIDING VICTORY  I JOHN 5:4

IV.            BATTLES NOT WON BY OUR OWN STRENGTH

A.    “GOD CAUSETH” US TO TRIUMPH

B.    WE ARE NO MATCH FOR OUR FOES

C.    OUR CAPTAIN CONQUERS HIM FOR US  HEBREWS 2:10

D.    DANIEL WAS IN THE DEN, SO WAS GOD

E.     THE HEBREW CHILDREN WERE IN THE FURNACE, SO WAS GOD

F.     “NOT BY MIGHT, NOR BY POWER…ZECH 4:6

V.               THERE IS A PLACE OF SAFETY

A.    WE TRIUMPH “IN CHRIST”

B.    THE BATTLE RAGES…TRIALS EVERYWHERE

C.    WE OVERCOME BECAUSE OF OUR POSITION

D.    HID WITH CHRIST, IN GOD  COLOSSIANS 3:3

E.     HEDGE AROUND US  JOB1:1

F.     A GARDEN ENCLOSED SONG OF SOLOMON 4:12

VI.            THE REASON IS TO MANIFEST CHRIST

A.   NOT TO SHOW OUR STRENGTH OR POWER

B.    TO SHOW THAT THE TRANSCENDING POWER BELONGED TO GOD, NOT US  II COR 4:7

C.   LETTING THE WORLD SEE THE BEAUTY OF JESUS THROUGH US
