Vv. 1-6.Cristo conocía a todos los hombres y tuvo fines sabios y santos al aceptar que Judas fuera un discípulo. Aquí se nos dice cómo aquel que conocía tan bien a Cristo, llegó a traicionarlo: Satanás entró en Judas. Cuesta mucho decir si hacen más daño al reino de Cristo el poder de sus enemigos declarados o la traición de falsos amigos, pero sin éstos, los enemigos no podrían hacer tanto mal como el que hacen.

Luk 22:3 - Then entered Satan into Judas,.... At the same time that the sanhedrim were sitting, and consulting about the death of Christ, Satan, or the adversary, as the word signifies, the devil, who is the enemy of the Messiah, the woman's seed, entered into Judas; not corporeally, as he did into those that were possessed by him; but he entered "into his heart", as the Ethiopic version renders it; he put it into his heart to betray him, as it is said in Joh_13:2 he stirred up, and worked upon the corruptions of his heart; suggested evil things to his mind, and baited his temptations agreeable to his malice and covetousness: and this man was

surnamed Iscariot; to distinguish him from another apostle of the same name; concerning this his surname; see Gill on Mat_10:4, See Gill on Joh_13:2.

Being of the number of the twelve; apostles, or disciples of Jesus, as the Persic version reads, and which is an aggravation of his sin: now this being two days before the passover, shows, that the sop which Judas took, after which the devil entered into him, Joh_13:27 could not be the passover sop, but was the sop he ate at the supper in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, so long before it.

Vers. 1-6. LA CONSPIRACION DE LAS AUTORIDADES JUDIAS PARA MATAR A JESUS—EL PACTO CON JUDAS.

3. Y entró Satanás, etc.—pero todavía no en el sentido completo. Las terribles etapas de ello fueron: (1) Siendo su pasión maestra la codicia, el Señor dejaba que ésta se revelara y cobrara fuerzas por confiarle la “bolsa” (Joh_12:6). en su carácter de tesorero para él y los Doce. (2) En el ejercicio de aquella sagrada carga, Judas vino a ser “ladrón”, apropiando para su uso personal de tiempo en tiempo el contenido de la bolsa. Viendo Satanás abierta de par en par la puerta de su corazón, decide entrar por ella, pero cautelosamente (2Co_2:11); primero, “había metido en el corazón de Judas,… que le entregase” (Joh_13:2), sugiriéndole el pensamiento que por este medio podría enriquecerse. (3) Este pensamiento fue probablemente convertido en propósito suyo por lo que sucedió en la casa de Simón en Betania. Véanse las notas acerca de Mat_26:6, y Joh_12:4-8. (4) Volviendo atrás, o refrenado misericordiosamente, por algún tiempo, la decisión de llevarlo a efecto inmediato no fué consumada sino hasta que, sentado en la Cena Pascual, “Satanás entró en él” (Véanse las notas acerca de Joh_13:27), y la conciencia eficazmente sofocada, sólo se levantó una vez más para atormentarlo. ¡Qué lecciones en todo esto para cada persona! (Eph_4:27; Jam_4:7; 1Pe_5:8-9).
