Eye Exploration

The eye is a window of the heart,

a doorway to the soul.

Where one may find treasures of life

surpassing the wealth of fine gold.

The innocent look in the eyes of a child

with the hope, excitement, or joy,

May be deeply stirred in a moment’s time

by nothing more than a toy.

The sincere gaze of guileless eyes,

their integrity, peace, and love;

Inspire a noble quality of life,

akin to that above.

The hatred glare of angry eyes,

so rigid, harsh, and cold;

And insecurity with which they’re fraught

takes mercy from the soul.

The look of love, that priceless stare,

that’s tender, kind, and warm.

With a message more eloquently told

than a thousand tongues has borne.

The look of home in the eyes of saints,

even when death draws near,

Reveals an assurance born of faith

that conquers all doubts and fear.
