infants cannot repent and believe; Under the new covenant it is faith in Jesus Christ, not an outward sign, that makes a person a child of God.
Galatians 3:7 NASB95
Therefore, be sure that it is those who are of faith who are sons of Abraham.
Kung gayon, maliwanag na ang mga nananalig sa Diyos ang mga tunay na anak ni Abraham.
Acts 2:38–41 NASB95
Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. “For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!” So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls.

Baptism follows the decision, believe.

Sinusunod ng binyag ang desisyon na maniwala

Acts 2:41 NASB95
So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls.

Matthew 28:18–20 NASB95
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Baptism was by immersion

Ang pagbibinyag ay sa pamamagitan ng paglulubog

The word “buried” implies immersion.
Romans 6:4 NASB95
Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.

Acts 8:38 NASB95
And he ordered the chariot to stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him.

Baptism is linked with the gift of the Holy Spirit

Ang bautismo ay nakaugnay sa kaloob ng Banal na Espiritu

;
Mark 1:8 NASB95
“I baptized you with water; but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
Acts 1:5 NASB95
for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

All the Christians at Corinth had been spiritually baptised into Christ and thus united with him.

Manifestations of the Holy Spirit may follow or precede water baptism

; ;
Acts 8:12–17 NASB95
But when they believed Philip preaching the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were being baptized, men and women alike. Even Simon himself believed; and after being baptized, he continued on with Philip, and as he observed signs and great miracles taking place, he was constantly amazed. Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent them Peter and John, who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For He had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they began laying their hands on them, and they were receiving the Holy Spirit.
Acts 9:17–18 NASB95
So Ananias departed and entered the house, and after laying his hands on him said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road by which you were coming, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” And immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he regained his sight, and he got up and was baptized;
Acts 10:44–48 NASB95
While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message. All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God. Then Peter answered, “Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?” And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay on for a few days.

The person who baptises is of little importance.

Ang taong nagbabautismo ay hindi gaanong mahalaga

What matters is not who baptises but the Saviour in whose name it is done.
1 Corinthians 1:14 NASB95
I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius,

Baptism “for the dead”

Pagbibinyag "para sa mga patay"

It is not certain if there was a ceremony of baptism “for the dead” in the NT church, nor whether, if it existed, Paul approved of it.
1 Corinthians 15:29 NASB95
Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them?

Passages which may imply infant baptism

The “households” (not merely individuals) may well have included children:

; ; ;
Acts 16:15 NASB95
And when she and her household had been baptized, she urged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and stay.” And she prevailed upon us.
Acts 16:33 NASB95
And he took them that very hour of the night and washed their wounds, and immediately he was baptized, he and all his household.
Acts 18:8 NASB95
Crispus, the leader of the synagogue, believed in the Lord with all his household, and many of the Corinthians when they heard were believing and being baptized.
1 Corinthians 1:16 NASB95
Now I did baptize also the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized any other.
; ; If baptism is here equated with circumcision, this suggests baptism is the sign of the new covenant.
Mark 10:13–16 NASB95
And they were bringing children to Him so that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, “Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. “Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all. And He took them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands on them.
1 Corinthians 7:14 NASB95
For the unbelieving husband is sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified through her believing husband; for otherwise your children are unclean, but now they are holy.
Colossians 2:11–12 NASB95
and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ; having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.
