Change is going to come...

Intro: Whether you like it or not change is going to come. Change is needed for growth.

Change is needed for growth.

Change is needed for growth.

Life is full of changes and we experience change in different ways. We may notice how our body is constantly changing. We discover our body changes in different ways from out growing our shoes, to change that your body has friend named “Arthur” and your feet change into dogs.
Change in a more scientific understanding is taught using a study of the Butterfly from egg, larva, pupa, (imago Latin for image; A.K.A adult) to butterfly. This shows the growth from immaturity to maturity.
Metamorphosis: (in an insect or amphibian) the process of transformation from an immature form to an adult form in two or more distinct stages.

Today we will reflect on how the Gospel changes us for the glory of the Kingdom.

The Kingdom is expressed by the Gospel.
The Gospel introduces us to the Kingdom.
The Gospel shows us how to enter the Kingdom through Jesus.
John 14:1–6 NLT
1 “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.” 5 “No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

The Gospel changes us for eternity.

The Gospel is the Good News

The Good news is that the Son of God was born of a woman to become the world’s sin offering to redeem the world of her sin. This act of love shows God’s amazing grace toward the broken to be made whole by the love of God. Knowing this great gospel message shows us the power of the kingdom.

Jesus in this parable is teaching about the Kingdom of God.

Matthew 13:31–32 NLT
31 Here is another illustration Jesus used: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed planted in a field. 32 It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of garden plants; it grows into a tree, and birds come and make nests in its branches.”

The Kingdom is like a mustard seed

Jesus explains how the mustard seed is the smallest of seeds. This in fact is the smallest seed you can see with the eye kind of impression given here. This seed is small and may be insignificant by first glance.
The beginning ministry of Jesus looks small like the mustard seed.
Jesus is speaking of how the beginning of his ministry looks small.
People can judge you but they do not know your future.
What you see now is not my future.
Know that God is in control and trust him to lead your life.

The ministry begins small.

Greatness is not always determined by size.
God measures our heart and not our stature.
1 Samuel 16:7 NLT
7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

God’s work within you will grow.

Give your life to Christ and you will see how the power of the Holy Spirit will lead you to change your life. Daily you will see growth in you from where you use to be in your life. God’s love is calling you to do great things for the kingdom.
The growth of the kingdom can not necessary be measured by human measurement.
The mustard seed is small but it can grow to be great.
It grows to be a large plant/tree that birds will make a nests in its branches.
The kingdom will grow because of God’s will.

The Parable teaches us how the Kingdom will grow.

The Kingdom grows to be greater than what they expected.
The Kingdom of God has no limits on who it can reach.
The Kingdom of God is in the changing ministry.
The Parable also suggest how the Gospel will expand to reach others.
Some suggest the birds are gentiles being reached by the gospel.
They find shelter in the gospel.

Let the Gospel Change You.

Let Jesus into your heart and let him change your life. See how the Gospel should show you the power of life. The Gospel teaches us how to live for the Kingdom and live in the kingdom.
In the Kingdom of Heaven Jesus is King and love reigns.
Gospel helps us to mature in the Word.

Change to be great for the Kingdom.

God has created you for his glory. He knows the greatness he has put in you. God also knows how what he has given you will be a blessing to others you do not even know. God can use you to impact someones life by just being available to serve.
God will help you to grow and change your life like the butterfly.
The butter fly starts as an egg.
Becomes a larva and only eats leaves of plants.
When time of maturity comes it forms the pupa.
When mature it becomes the butterfly.
The change is noticeable.
The
The change shows us how great God’s creation can be for his glory.

Let the Lord in and be changed.

Let him change your heart.
Let him change your destination.
Let him show you are his and heaven is in your view.
