The Value Of Recognition
Recognition: acknowledgment of something's existence, validity, or legality.
The story of Jehoshaphat gives us
Recognition #1 - You Will Have Trouble
After this the Moabites and Ammonites, and with them some of the Meunites, came against Jehoshaphat for battle.

Jehoshaphat had many flaws but the Bible tells us that some good was found in him.
He brought the people back to God
He destroyed the Idols Gods
He appointed judges - He wanted faithful judges
After this - Three Armies come up against Judah
We must recognize the Devil is not happy about our “Turn Around”
We must recognize that people well always have something to say about your progress…
We have to recognize that doing right will bring some trouble into our life.
Recognition #2 - Prayer and Fasting Has A Purpose
Then Jehoshaphat was afraid and set his face to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

The difference between us and Jehoshaphat is that he needed a middle Man!
People use prayer and fasting as situational
We use prayer and fasting as a lifestyle
Prayer and fasting has a Purpose - The Purpose is to put me in the right place!
Recognition #3 - Who God Is…
Jehoshaphat begins to talk to the people…
and said, “O Lord, God of our fathers, are you not God in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. In your hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand you. Did you not, our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend?

God in heaven
You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations (News Flash - He still does)
“In your hand” - Hand: a person’s possession or possessing conceived of in terms of the hand.

Power: strength n. — the property of being physically or mentally strong.
Might: physical strength.

Recognition #4 - What Should Be My Focus
power (physical) n. — physical strength.
O our God, will you not execute judgment on them? For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”

We are powerless - Stop focusing on what you can’t control
Stop focusing on the enemy -
Stop focusing on figuring it out!
“But our eyes are on you.”
Recognition #5 This Is Not Your Fight
The Spirit came upon Jahaziel
And he said, “Listen, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the Lord to you, ‘Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but God’s.
2 Chronicles 20:
Do not be afraid
Do not be dismayed - Dismayed: to be made low in spirits; be made downhearted.
For the battle is not yours but God’s!

You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, and the Lord will be with you.”
Recognition #6 - Your Song & Praise Has Power
And when he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who were to sing to the Lord and praise him in holy attire, as they went before the army, and say,
“Give thanks to the Lord,
for his steadfast love endures forever.”

And when they began to sing and praise, the Lord set an ambush against the men of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah, so that they were routed.
Praise: to extol the greatness of a deity or the deity’s works as an act of worship.
