I just want to know at the end of my life: whether I have lived a full life & whether I will be remembered by those whom I love.
Psalm 16:5-11 A Paraphrase
The Lord is My Portion, my promised inheritance
Lord, you make my lot secure (lot in life; sure of my salvation)
My inheritance is of good territory, not worthless
The Lord’s Word is in my heart, even in my sleep
“I keep my eyes always on the Lord,” not at my circumstances, so I stay steady in faith
Because of faith in him, I will be full of joy, I will rejoice, and I will find rest.
You, Lord, will not abandon me, nor will you let me be corrupted by sin.
You show me the way to everlasting life of joy with you.
Paul admonishes the Colossians to Continue to live their lives in Christ
Rooted (again) and built up (maturity) in Christ
Strengthened in Faith and Overflowing with Thankfulness
Be careful not to be deceived by empty philosophies or elemental forces (earth, wind, fire and water)
The Enemy takes captives of anyone who is lost on the journey of faith.
Christ has the fullness of God from the beginning.
Our hearts are circumcised from sin, no longer ruled by sin.
We regain the full image of God, which is only in Christ, in salvation.
Salvation is being made alive through repentance and forgiveness to Christ in faith.
Jesus canceled our debt and guilt by nailing to the cross.
No one has the power to condemn us, since Christ no longer does.
Reality is found in Jesus Christ!
Life is Only found in Jesus Christ!
Colossians 3:1–4 NIV
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
