Fake rivers at water parks, bible gives us clues to the fake rivers of life

Life?

Certain people have absolutely mastered their area of expertise and know how to flow in what they do.

Accountant, business man, pastor, school teacher, musician,

Flow comes naturally and easy in those areas.

Many times they’ve worked at it until it becomes natural.

What about the things of the lord?

Step into a river?

What happens?

What happens?

At first, your feet get wet and that’s about it.

But if you get up past your ankles, you begin to feel a pull whichever direction the water is.. flowing

And if you get in to your chest, the flow of the river pulls you or pushes the direction of the flow

Thoughts and feelings are pulled by these flows and our actions follow, we explode, (etc)

We have all let these rivers pull us

The Bible calls them spirits and it uses the term for this as spirit of fear, spirit of anger, lust, greed, jealousy

Doesn’t it seem like it’s super easy to step into those rivers

Those who have problems with anger, they know the flow, second nature, it’s natural, part of who you are?

Lust, pornography

Greedy,

Gossip

We all know the rivers that life tempts us with

And we didn’t have to do anything to enter them did we

We were born into it, or something happened to us, and these floes are now a part of who we are

And it’s in the middle of these rivers we find ourselves in, where we see brokenness and hurt and pain that one cries out with a message

These rivers produce something different in us and around us than what the world offers

How do we get to these rivers of living water of the spirit of life in Christ

Faith, believing, trusting in The actual Jesus that came 2000 years ago died and rose again, who says he did it for you and that the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead can and will live in you when you believe

And as you begin to believe the rivers of this world that seem like second nature begin to lose their hold, current isnt as strong, it doesnt mean its not fighting to hold you back, but theres somthing better, theres someone better

And you go from the spirit of anger to peace, lust to love, selfishness to giving

Death to life

Turn your eyes upon Jesus

God wants, and I want to see you with rivers of living water coming out of your heart

Flow of praise and worship is one of the rivers God has for us to communicate with us, with believers, with unbelievers, and grow us, there so many things that God does when we praise and sing together

Now once I’m out in the deeper waters there’s this thing called current.

The currents push you wherever the water wants to go.
