Verse:
4 “And now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and the rules that I am teaching you, and do them, that you may live, and go in and take possession of the land that the Lord, the God of your fathers, is giving you. 2 You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you. 3 Your eyes have seen what the Lord did at Baal-peor, for the Lord your God destroyed from among you all the men who followed the Baal of Peor. 4 But you who held fast to the Lord your God are all alive today. 5 See, I have taught you statutes and rules, as the Lord my God commanded me, that you should do them in the land that you are entering to take possession of it. 6 Keep them and do them, for that will be your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, who, when they hear all these statutes, will say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’ 7 For what great nation is there that has a god so near to it as the Lord our God is to us, whenever we call upon him? 8 And what great nation is there, that has statutes and rules so righteous as all this law that I set before you today?
9 “Only take care, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. Make them known to your children and your children’s children— 10 how on the day that you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb, the Lord said to me, ‘Gather the people to me, that I may let them hear my words, so that they may learn to fear me all the days that they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children so.’ 11 And you came near and stood at the foot of the mountain, while the mountain burned with fire to the heart of heaven, wrapped in darkness, cloud, and gloom. 12 Then the Lord spoke to you out of the midst of the fire. You heard the sound of words, but saw no form; there was only a voice. 13 And he declared to you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, that is, the Ten Commandments, and he wrote them on two tablets of stone. 14 And the Lord commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and rules, that you might do them in the land that you are going over to possess.
Intro:
The 1980 Supreme Court of the United States banned hanging the Ten Commandments on the walls of our schools. You might wonder why they would do that? Well, the majority believed the Ten Commandments had no educational value for school children. Let me directly quote the majority ruling – They wrote, "If the posted copies of the Ten Commandments are to have any effect at all, it will be to induce the school children to read, meditate upon, perhaps to venerate and obey the commandments...” Which (they went on to write) is not a permissible objective."
Think about it? The majority on the court were saying it is not permissible for students to honor God, speak without cursing, honor their parents, tell the truth, be honest, respect others property and to treat life as sacred. If these values are not allowed, should it surprise us that many public schools now have to employ metal detectors, surveillance cameras, bomb squads and undercover police officers.
So what’s your opinion? Wouldn’t you agree that the Ten Commandments would be of some educational value for today’s school children?
Today I do not want to talk about the ten commandments but I want you to know about how the ten commandments are the Boundaries that God set in place for the Childrean of Isreal. They were Guide lines to live life to its fullest. They Boundaries that God gave Isreal for their own God. Because with Boundaries there is gift tied to these boundaries.

You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you. 3 Your eyes have seen what the Lord did at Baal-peor, for the Lord your God destroyed from among you all the men who followed the Baal of Peor.
Boundaries
When we stay in the confines of Gods Boundaries we get his protection
The fear of man bringeth a snare;
But whoso putteth his trust in Jehovah shall be safe.
The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.
Proverbs 25:29
Proverbs 29:
We Keep the protection When we Keep the Boundaries Tell the next generation.
6 Therefore be careful to observe them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes, and say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’
V 6 Keep them and do them, for that will be your wisdom

10 especially concerning the day you stood before the Lord your God in Horeb, when the Lord said to me, ‘Gather the people to Me, and I will let them hear My words, that they may learn to fear Me all the days they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children.’

Deuteronomy 4:
Boundaries give us Righteousness.
As a good Father, God lovingly provides limits He wants People to depend on Him and to learn that godly attitudes and behaviors will bring blessing to their lives.
God gives people limits and discipline so that He can bring a harvest of righteousness
5 And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons:
“My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord,
Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;
6 For whom the Lord loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives.”
7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? 8 But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. 9 Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? 10 For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. 11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
Boundaries are for Freedom
Boundaries are for Freedom
It is freedom that Christ has set us free”
Gala
1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
Before Jesus died on a cross, God’s people lived under a detailed system of laws that served as a moral compass to guide their lives.
The Law, while powerless to grant salvation or produce true freedom, nevertheless pointed the way to Jesus Christ
Through His sacrificial death, Jesus Christ fulfilled the Law, setting believers free from the law of sin and death. God’s laws are now written in our hearts through the Spirit of God, and we are free to follow and serve Christ in ways that please and glorify Him
An important aspect of Christian freedom is our responsibility not to return to living under the Law.
Inside the boundaries “Everything is permissible
Paul says; Christians have a great deal of freedom in Christ. However, not everything is beneficial or constructive.
Our freedom in Christ must be balanced by a desire to build up and benefit others.
When deciding how to exercise our Christian freedom, we ought to seek the good of others before our own good.
