1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God.

This story of Jesus Christ is the story of how God does away with the Old Creation, a world held captive to sin, death, and sorrow, and brings in his New Creation. He does this through the person and work of Jesus Christ.

Matthew and others will use Χριστός without the article without any apparent significant meaning.
