This week Jesus the Son > Moses the servant
Jesus More Worthy than Moses
Jesus More Worthy than Moses
3 For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself.
4 (For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.)
5 Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later,
6 but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a son. And we are his house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.

Hebrews 3:3-
According to the passage, why is Jesus more worthy of glory than Moses?
Uses carpentry as a comparison
Chip and Joanna Gaynes - Fixer Upper
Houses look great and are amazing creations
But what’s even more amazing is the person who envisioned that house
This is the comparison given here
This is why Jesus is worthy of more glory because He spoke into existence Moses
The Bible gives some credit to Moses
Christ Better than Moses
Christ Better than Moses
5 Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later,
6 but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a son. And we are his house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.
Bible calls Moses a faithful servant - handled his task well
What did Moses do to be a faithful servant?
Obeyed God
Received the law of God
Made it known
So, Moses is faithful in God’s House
Jesus is faithful over God’s house
vs.6a “but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a son.”
A son has more authority over the house than a servant does
He inherits the Father’s kingdom, thus ruling over it - no different with Christ
Where is Christ’s house?
6 but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a son. And we are his house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.
vs. 6b “And we are his house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.”
We are His house:
d
Christ dwells within us
3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
Revelation 2
How are we Christ’s house?
If:
we hold fast to our confession
boasting in our hope
How do we do that?
Believe the Gospel
Be changed by the Gospel
It is a life rung out for the Gospel
it screams I have no hope except in Christ!
